  1. That's not misleading - it's outright criminality. You need to report this straight away. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/THE-CASHMERES-SHOW-STOPPER-HEM-RECORDS-/200996320561?pt=UK_Records&hash=item2ecc507531&nma=true&si=pAWfwxOJ1%252FKVY6Oz4%252Bn1g0ZgPeg%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 edit - sorry just seen your post above. Who is this despicable git?
  2. It's Louise Vienna - When It Looks Like Rain - United Artists. A pop record surely?
  3. Shame you couldn't get one with the label the right way up.
  4. There's another cognitive distortion that goes with this: I hear people describing records as "starting to get rare" when they mean rising in value. Maybe there's a fortune to be made in running courses of "logical thinking for soul record buyers"...
  5. And here's Dave in action...
  6. I think you're possibly confusing "talk" and "turn the heating up."
  7. Oh, you and your pithy responses Winnie. You'll be telling me that you have a sense of humour next. What a card you really are!
  8. No great DJs have looked at this topic. They don't need to. However, every single person who has posted on this thread - or even just looked it at - is clearly desperate to be regarded as a great DJ.. Doh..!
  9. At the risk of turning this into a coloured vinyl thread - has anyone mentioned the Ted Taylor and Artistics Okeh releases on purple wax? edit - this was split from another thread. That's what the first part of my sentence refers to. Just don't want to appear more of a dimwit than usual. Thank you.
  10. I like the Ann Cole version a lot more.
  11. Simon Soussan supplied acetates with Sidney Barnes Orchestra - I Hurt On The Other Side c/w Detroit Symphony Orchestra - I have Faith In You. I always assumed they were prospective (Soul Fox?) releases that never materialised. I Have Faith has the famous volume drop 10 seconds or so in, which is evident on all the subsequent bootlegs. The Sidney Barnes inst has what sounds like synth strings dubbed all over it.
  12. Flipside is vocal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63637d3LGK0
  13. I expect literally dozens of likes on this astounding piece of deduction by the way.... oh, suit yourselves - it was worth a try
  14. I like guessing games so how about this: Local label prior to Madhatter/Penthouse (or acetate) pairing Living Color - 'Thank The Lord For Love' with Mystery Men - 'City Skies.' I think there's only ever been one copy of City Skies that actually plays the instrumental to Thank The Lord For Love and JM broke it! He'll have been looking for another copy ever since and would be bursting out of his trousers if he found a voc/inst coupling that pre-dates either release. The period is about right...
  15. Sandy Layne's "How Many Times" got some plays on the Northern scene but the official a side "Push My Love Button" is pure country-pop.
  16. No need to speculate further: it's Backfield in Motion. I just heard Ian Dewhurst's trousers explode.

Are you still at with this Ian? I'm surprised you're not completely worn out - this has to be longest one handed typing session this forum has ever witnessed....

...and it's "Bucks" Rogers Movement on the label. Everyone gets that wrong. Edit: some are and some aren't. Well I never....

Ariola in Germany - art sleeve but the most boring looking label so far, I reckon.
  22. Didn't know that - ta for the info. As long as both sides are present I'd be happy enough though

There are a number of UK variations. Here's the pink one, multi-coloured (both have pop out centre) fried egg with solid centre, fried egg with pop-out centre. 45Cat also has this RPM issue from Rhodesia. Valiant attempt at spelling "Backfield" in the topic title by the way...
  24. Looking for copies of the following: Living Color - Plastic People / Instrumental - Sophisticated Funk (ok with 'Sophiscated Funk' spelling variant) Gatur's - Yeah You're Right, You Know You're Right / Hunk of Funk - Gatur I'd ideally like Ex condition copies but would consider lesser condition if they play well and are priced accordingly. Please contact by PM or email me at: mistergodzilla@yahoo.com Thanks in advance

Works fine - and you should get on quick while they're giving away all those old 60s uk demos for free.
