Mirwood White Demo Albums
How about a compilatiion album - Orig 60s mirwood tunes album on Vj records (Yellow VJ label) Unfortunately no cover for it. The record looked like an original 60s issued album. gave it to Barrie Waddington who will be able to enlighten you about the the track listing but I remeber it had ciggarette ashes, Dont pretend etc on it and one I had never heard of! How about that for a mirwood collectable!

Bad Accidents With Rare Records?
Recently sold Winfield parker - I wanna be with you to someone on ebay. Packed it up with all the rest and left it in the kitchen- The person took so long to pay for it I forgot about it. When records come into me I leave the mailers if they are damaged again in the kitchen. I use them to get my Boxy fire central heating system going at the back of the kitchen . I must have put the Winfield parker with the empty mailers because when I started the fire all I could smell through the cardboard ,wood and coal was a strong smell of Plastic- That will teach me! ooops Think John Weston has a rare record story to tell - Come on Johnny - we are all sitting comfortably!

Anyone Know Anything About This Off Anglos List?
As per telephone call Pete The One on Anglos is Midtempo on one sie and slightly uptempo on the other but a bit messy although it was heard over the phone when I heard it. Allison and Calvin Turner mainly did Funk records which are expensive £500 - £750 The one you have bought is actually for the other side - What is this - Uptempo Magic IMO nearly in the same league as Fortson & Scott.(but thats my personal opinion) I recently got a mint copy. Value not sure but the person I got it from was expecting more that I bought it for (i think they were expecting $500 for it) The track is Short - Just on 2mins I think and is one of the best Duo vocal records I heard for along time Luckily the one you have bought the VG+ side is -what is this If a big DJ got behind this it could be a monster and I know this has been said before but I genuinely believe this could be. Sorry dont have facility to upload sounds but if anyone wants to hear it they can phone me . Pete I will ring you tonight to play it to you.

Playing Rare Originals @ Venues: Does It Make Sense?
Actually i SAID league 2 which is the fourth tier Premership, championship. league 1 and league 2- Your probably above me in the championship I was just trying to point out we all have rare records and play them and therefore wear & tear but not to play them however rare and costly in my opinion is a crime. Put them on and release the music, dont keep it imprisoned in those grooves!

Wanted: Aretha Franklin "are You Sure?"

Playing Rare Originals @ Venues: Does It Make Sense?
I consider myself as a league 2 DJ - Im never going to be in the premiership and therefore I have to work hard to produce adecent set. I practice at home regularly with the records Ive got to come up with a list of 25 records that I could interchange to keep people happy. This is hours of enjoyable work and yes it wears the record down but most people buy a car to drive not park in a garage for years. To me a laptop or I pod is for personal use and not to be used for the masses. Ifind it hard to see how when maybe your sets no going to well that you trawl through 10,000 tracks just to get your set back in the groove and I dont see the intrinsic merit of doing it as opposed to having abox of 200 records and quickly raking through for that tune to get things sweet. You feel elated when it works and is a vindication of that collecting fever. Laptop? Down load 10,000 records in a week Collect 1000 records in 10 years, The thrill of the find, the chase, the catch , the next one and link that to a djs set, thats what lifes all about not sterile digital robotics, No emotion , no feeling! If you look at avery worn teddybear you know its been loved. if you see one thats been stuck away then you know a child has been deprived. Records are to be played and loved
