  1. Looks to be from the same pressing plant: Plastic Products (Memphis, Tennessee)
  2. Following the rightfully aborted debate in the sales forum about the year of release of the reissue where Paul claims it's about the same year of release since they have the same text, I wanted to add: maybe the text content are the same, but they didn't use the same templates and fonts. They are a close match but not the same. The black text fonts remind me of the early 7T's to mid 7T's Houston press like that Jet Stream below most likely from the same pressing plant ! I always understood that the Rufus Wood black text was just a 7T's reissue made to meet the demand on the northern soul scene. So it must have been spun some first to create a demand before being reissued. Like pointed by Wiggyflat from a Blues & Soul article from 1976 were it was tipped as played by Soul Sam, it makes more sense that it was reissued around that time IMHO. Still a perfectly suitable reissue none the less. 1968 - 1968 197? & 1976
  3. I know it's not utterly important to anything factual about those 2000 Satellite promo releases, but just to close the "boot" debate, find here some images of them promos to show the Vontastics release was not the only one having that particularity. And why would anyone boot those two others ? Now I can sleep peacefully. Here's the little combination compilation... that shows 3 (at least) that bared at one or at all time the DJ COPY on the right hand side of the label.
  4. Hi Mike, no I have no experience with that but I know you can buy online pro-formated flower ornaments with personalized banner and have it deliver. Wich is what I believe to be the right thing. Now the thing is to see how/who to raise the donations from SS members (Paypal account...) and the do all that... https://www.skokieflorist.net/sympathy-funeral-flowers-87_144678c.asp
  5. Mine does Mine does.
  6. Agreed, but so like about everything else on JM's auctions. Little Eddie is not an "in-sound" record I'd say. But would it be a second time around then... It is rare and awfully good: full of grits and edges. Maybe too much by today standards where the "blank" stuffs (souls) take over. Super clean condition 500 I'd think and not the easiest seller ?
  7. Yes, edit ! Cheers
  8. Once saw Edward Hamilton 'baby don't you weep' Mary Jane minty picked for 3 or 5 £ out of the "imports" selection. I was jealous.
  9. Now here's another third DJ COPY variation: not white label though. And there are at least 2 variations for the stock issue as such: This suggests different rounds of runs (as they all seem to be from the same pressing plant) and indeed a push for it to be a hit in time.
  10. Soundclips from actual records from 2-siders both with one well established "northern side" and a flip-side for daring tasteful ears. 12. Here's this monday podcast with another OVO LP only edits. Enjoy ! https://www.mixcloud.com/Cloudfunk/timmy-soul-presents-the-e-l-p-ire-strikes-back/
  13. 'Whey, Hey !' I know it means nothing on it's own but it resumes so well with faith, humility and hope both lyrics of Bobby Hutton's 'lend a hand' at the beginning of the song and of Spyder Turner's 'I can't make it anymore' at the end of the song. It's stuck in my head for decades now. It still suits me and I'm doing fine (still sane). So 'Whey, Hey !'
  14. Good Monday Vietnaaam ! Today's podcast edition is my first LP only selection. I had to twist my arm to produce such an effort not forgetting not to place the 45 adaptor before placing the "big" record on the turntable platter. It was not without any trouble but here's the result: https://www.mixcloud.com/Cloudfunk/timmy-soul-presents-ffrr-the-styuls-friction-lp-12-inches-33-rpm-special/
  15. Sorry but... come again:
  16. Oui, oui ! Spring is here (and or about) in this most changing day and age where even mother nature can't keep track of the global weather variations and so is my last podcast accordingly, still with love; https://www.mixcloud.com/Cloudfunk/timmy-soul-presents-seasoning-love-dance-in-mid-air/
  17. The Savoy pictured in your original post should play the bluesy 'I don't want to cry' instead of the Scepter song as the 3rd post with the London UK pressing Youtube clip shows rightfully. Maybe not a scam but just a confusion... or a scam ! It's not the same song even lyric wise. That's why the credits are not matching.
  18. Referring to John Manship running auction with the Gifted Four 'are you choosing' on Hamito-Semitica where it's described as the first release, I still wonder. I did read and hear a few times the HSR is first but could never take it for cash. I do know that sometimes things happens without any logic and factual leads have to be put aside because it all happened tricky through trick minds. But this time, unless someone involved in this record/project can say otherwise, I'd rather believe that the Hamito-Semitica is second. First, I did not find anything else on that Hamito-Semitica label to established it was following something like an HSR 103... Secondly F. Degrate who appears on both CSC 103 & 104 is the one name disapearing on the Hamito-Semitica releases that use the CSC numbering system 104. That could suggest an argument between associates that lead to a split and a re-release on a "new label" that is still distributed by CSC records. Finally the fact that Hamito-Semitica re-re-realse it on a 12" in 1990 would rather suggest a revive from it's last form. I know it was talked about on here before; But it was just mentioned there not "argued" I'd say. Anyone out there with arguments to dish out for or against any theory ?
  19. The elections are coming all round European countries. Some for down local authorities but all for the higher instances in the Cloudfunksters at the head of Europe. Get up & get involved; https://www.mixcloud.com/Cloudfunk/timmy-soul-presents-the-election-mono-fide-lity-program-vote-4-back-2-mono/
  20. The last result of my podcast is presently available on: https://www.mixcloud.com/Cloudfunk/timmy-soul-presents-the-hi-fi-albums-and-i-sittin-listenin-watchin-and-wonderin/
  21. Once, I did that with a record to a well known and as far as I've read here on SS a person with a "pedigree". I did think so also. That supposedly DJ with a "good" reputation was the first to play it on the Northern scene and it made it's buzz then (pre-internet days) that it even made Butch asking me to trade it from me. It was then known by only few collectors. Every time that DJ/dealer guy and me had to meet, he did "forgot about it" home. He even proposed me nice records to trade out of his own collection. But I always turned the trades down since all I wanted was my record back. Now that DJ still has my record and he pretends that we did trade it. That is a never ! That "good" reputation person is just such a liar. Now I can imagine the "hire" thing happening otherwise at times. Or at least at times. Not talking about the real mischiefs (broken stolen lost...) and the fact that an insurance never covers the full value of a very relative value based on a valuation system that is very speculative on top gonna make any issues very tricky to work out right. And then, not talking about the wolves in sheep clothing that will rush in this "golden" opportunity. Spin what you have and the reward of a very long want that took all that time to own is the biggest prize you will get. IMHO
