  1. OK, I've browsed through the two previous topics (2006-2008) on the very same subject thanks the links provided by 'macca'. I believe we can now forget about finding a proper copy since they all (stockers and promos) seem to suffer the same fate from a bad/faulty master-plate issue at the pressing plant. I'd have wish for a bad run of pressings instead but it doesn't seem to be the case...
  2. I've dug out my minty pink promo copy of Jean Carter 'like one' on USA Decca and the sound is rather distorted. Like muffled and trebled. And even the flip side 'that boy ain't no good' suffers the same fate. It looks like a real clean Ex++ copy. It sounds like it could be covered with a veil of "grease" like some NOS stored in warehouses get through the years, but it's not the case. Anyone out there has the same ? Or not the same !
  3. Never heard of it being bootlegged. And indeed I've seen a few advertised on the e-VilBay being double sided... promos they were. So likely they were just mislabeled as. As yours is.
  4. Both were new old stock when first bought some 20 years ago. Now they still look as they sound; GREAT ! Overall both nice Ex Scans and sound clip from actual record for sale jerry kane.mp3 PM me for details. Gradings used are M/Ex/Vg... through +/- £20 free P&P all over the world - add £6 to have it registered ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ !!! SOLD !!! Scans and sound clip of both sides from actual record for sale jonn el.mp3 PM me for details.   5. Same here since ever... and with that video even more a second time around;
  6. Johnny's finest double sider IMHO. And by saying that I'm a real amateur of his singing talent ! This copy is in overall Ex- condition due a slight warp, some light wear to the vinyl and label. Still in great shape by the looks and sounds. Mind you the noises on the 'it's all over side' side are due to the pressing and they're all like that. See and hear; Scans and sound clip of both sides from actual record for sale. johnny moore.mp3 PM me for details. Gradings used are M/Ex/Vg... through +/- £65 free P&P all over the world - add £6 to have it registered
  7. That was my gut feeling. I don't have the Wee3 anymore and I just got in the beautiful Wheelsville copy and I had that impression that the Wee3 was indeed full of bass and deeper in the sound spectrum somehow in comparaison... from memory that is. Cheers 4 that.
  8. Yes this I know, the Wee3 has 'I've been trying' which is a decent cover to the Impressions and the Wheelsville has 'love of my life' which "rips-off" Marvin Gaye's 'I'll be doggone' guitar riffs. My quest is about the 'with these eyes' sound quality between both release; is there any difference or not ?
  9. We know that the Wheelsville for the 'with these eyes' is the first issue and that it's rarer but, is one press better sounding than the other ?
  10. Nell's best side and if you don't know this , listen to it and get your prescribed daily dose of SOUL while you're at it. BTW only available on the stocker. Overall Ex with number on flip and sticker mark. Scans and sound clip of both sides from actual record for sale. nell carter.mp3 PM me for details. Gradings used are M/Ex/Vg... through +/- £20 free P&P all over the world - add £6 to have it registered
  11. Check it out. The promo copy of 'stand by me' is a double 'A' side. That is an odd and first-time for an early 1967 MGM single. Spyder's 'stand by me' take was submitted as a demo tape to MGM and they decided to issue it right away. And since it was a 'one' song demo thing, it could only be issued as a double 'A' side 45. The air-play reaction was immediate and the commercial/stock release had to be issued in a rush to meet the public demand while it was still "hot". So they manage through Clay McMurray (then Spyder Turner manager) who was a corner-stone in all that small Detroit business and music industry to get unreleased material from Thelma records collection. And so it was "intentionally" released as the 'B' side with a fake/cover-up singer name. Listen close it's all Thelma and Matthews... Funny and great stuffs.
  12. I always thought that it was after... but my thoughts are only based on thoughts and so are is not always accurate. It sounds rather '67 or '69 while the Mir-A-Don stuffs are '65 or '66.
  13. £80 is a bargain, £294 is over the top IMHO but in a realistic high-end price accordingly to today's volatile market where $999.00 is plain insane !
  14. Overall Ex condition. Scans and sound of both sides from actual record for sale. bobby byrd.mp3 PM me for details. Gradings used are M/Ex/Vg... through +/- £15 free P&P all over the world - add £6 to have it registered
  15. I like my Wand in the demo format, collectors have silly-tricky mind set-ups like that... And indeed some of the rarer Wand 45's are indeed much harder on stocker.
  16. Yes I know, I've pulled out my copy 1 month ago to put it in my play-box and re-listened to the instrumental flip which is a decent mechanical driven tune.
  17. What about import duty taxes then ?
  18. Rare than 'wait till...' but not that/as good IMHO. Build with interesting arrangements as usual for those guys, but the composition is going here and there and dropping to bore at times. All that never made it something to remember with enthusiasm for me. So I never kept a copy to this day. Always thought more to be a completist collector kind of record or a DJ one for those that wanted to be "creative" in some kind of way... So a minty stocker !!! = £250/300 max
  19. Overall Ex copy with sticker mark, glue and 'x' on deep soul flip. Scans and sound clip of both sides from actual record for sale. exotics.mp3 PM me for details. Gradings used are M/Ex/Vg... through +/- £25 free P&P all over the world - add £6 to have it registered
  20. Super clean copy !!! Soundclip of both sides and scans from actual record for sale. bobby womack.mp3 PM me for details. Gradings used are M/Ex/Vg... through +/- £30 free P&P all over the world - add £6 to have it registered
  21. Chuck needs no introduction. So all that is good of the man is mandatory to own. Here are my favorites of the man available only on his 'ENCORE!' LP and what an LP ! It features other non-45 tunes and other good well known 45's. Great LP in great nick. Shows one scuffs or two on vinyl. Nothing outrageous. Overall a good and nice Ex. Scans and sound clip of both non-45 favorites of mine from actual record for sale; chuck jackson.mp3 PM me for details. Gradings used are M/Ex/Vg... through +/- £25 free P&P all over the world - add £6 to have it registered
  22. It's not about your specific track, but his other one commented here above by 'wchrisj'... still with what seems to be a rather specific band description... screen capture taken from 'popsike'.
  23. Me neither FB but it's the Isley Bros. 'this old heart'
  24. Exactly the same understanding for the Auroro release.
  25. Yes I know and understand. The point I was making here above was to point out that, even not knowing for facts, those color variation for promos between blue and the yellow are not from different pressing plants, but COULD BE due to a shortage of ready made colored to match labels for rush releases. One could guess the red colored promo release were released as for the same reason since both promos, the light blue and the red promo copies, of the Tommy Yates are from the same pressing plant.
