  1. So "want' is more like track or search than actually want, generally. Fair enough.
  2. Am I being a thicky and getting this all wrong or what. At random from your page https://www.discogs.com/buy/Vinyl/Hank-Carbo-Bad-Luck-Funny-How-Times-Slips-Away/128529589?ev=bp_titl Now 39 people "want this" which I assume is the same as "watching", quite a popular little number so in theory someone could break down and buy it at any time There are 4 for sale, all in decent nick, yours being at the cheaper end. Mail in Europe eg is $8 and lets assume its the same if you buy 1 or 2 more Assuming you were watching that, do you wait till there is something else you have that you want and hope that this is still there when you find the other something? Or would you buy it and have him hold it until such other thing that you want shows up, in which case it shouldn't still be up for sale?
  3. Yeah seems to be for just tracking values or curiosity, I figure 10 watchers =maybe 1 bid On Discogs it seems to be worse, umpteen people "want" when there are several for sale, at least 1 on every continent for about $10. What's holding us up!!
  4. I watched this a few nights ago and wondered. As Terry D-K seems to be a modern chappie is this a recent creation for the show or a serious record on vinyl?
  5. I suppose it's too late to tape up the box?
  6. Label looks a bit shiny compared to your average Canyon. You've got an oddy there.
  7. Just FYI Pete, it has been booted so check it. Needs to have a Bell Sound. Was covered by the Beatles somewhere or other so completists want it. Good luck with it

I agree about listing the B side and I can also see his point about some of the winners you find on EBay This was the description on one of his earlier ones so If he just paid JM probably top dollar a year ago there has to be a reason to sell If he really is ill and that is the reason I can see where he might be somewhat crabby on the other hand he does say "choons" which I could see would bring out the worst in people over the next couple of months I will be selling 40 - 50 records from my collection, these will in batches of 8 to ten records & will be put up about every two weeks, so please keep your eyes peeled for some cracking choons all on original labels. please note, I will have a fair percentage of these records listed elsewhere, so please do not pay for an item until you receive an invoice, this will also allow me to amend postage if you win multiple items, postage will be special delivery only, which is insured & next day delivery. I am sure you will agree this is self explanatory, so please don't email for more extra info, I am quite ill at the moment & have no wish to enter into protracted email conversations thanks for being understanding. rest assured these records are in top condition, most near mint with a couple of exceptions which will be listed in detail international g.t.o.s, I love my baby, rojac, demo, bought this from john manship about a year ago, bell sound stamped original & a very seldom seen demo, staggering mint condition, you wont find a better copy, real deal northern.
  9. I'm glad they're thinking of that. I always think it's a shame when a collection gets broken up. Money or no money always a lot of sweat went into it which shouldn't be denied. In this case A LOT. The OOwins an AAhins going on in there ( warts an all ) if it gets to public viewing, Priceless!!
  10. you're welcome.
  11. Don't know if this has been already mentioned, but for those who feel the need. https://obits.dignitymemorial.com/dignity-memorial/obituary.aspx?n=Robert-Abrahamian&lc=4636&pid=171263020&mid=6000566
  12. This I'm nowhere near the soulie 90% of you guys are, I'm definitely an R&Bie. Sweet soul particularly usually leaves me fairly unmoved BUT I sometimes listened to his show because even if I didn't "like" most of it there was always a chance he would play something good and rarely did I find them bad. This is outstanding!! If I could sing with passion like that I'd be a happy camper. Passion beats talent anyday, and Bob A & this guy had it by the bucketful So even from beyond.......... I can't say I knew him but I sold him a record or 2, which was always a pleasure, and had a few chats & emails. I've been trying to get my head round this since I heard and I can't really fathom it- so young. He should have had years of moving & grooving ahead of him. Sometimes life just sucks.I can't imagine what those close to him must feel. I missed saying this in my previous post but my deepest most sincere condolences to family and those close.
  13. Never met him but spoke to him a couple of times and emailed. Straight up, lovely guy. RIP Anyone have more details? He can't have been any age.
  14. You could always put a Handy Trax in a suitcase, there are always loads in charity shops and then you could have that lived in patina without waiting. Simple.
  15. Ta for taking the time Pete. Quality toe tappin while I've been buggering about pretending to do something this afternoon
  16. For future reference, so you'll now know when to start to panic. International Signed For in the past was only tracked to the UK border, it seems that now you can put the UK tracking # into the USPS site and it will tell you a tale ( fairy or not I can't say) Doesn't seem to work the other way round though, we still have no idea what happens when it gets over there
  17. Velvelettes - Needle in a haystack Funny how when you're a kid ( and even now sometimes ) something you hear once and sticks and sticks and you never ever get tired of it. Top shelf toe tapper. I've often though for all the great rare/ obscure records we listen to some records were hits for a reason and deservedly so. ( admitted that some were'nt, but that's another story) Has there been a worst record on Motown thread? Couldn't find one.
  18. Thanks Mike. Sounds like a daunting task, and even though it may not be, I'm always impressed how you just jump on this stuff and get it done Up and running in 24 hrs - can't beat that.
  19. So more to come then it would seem
  20. Looks like he's in your town Pete. Why not pop round and have a shufti see what other gems are there.

  22. I tend to like stuff a bit earlier than the majority of yous guys, but give it a go , won't do you any harm. Just dug this out after a few years of not having heard it. Gotta feel for the guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhXUPwfktN8
  23. How's that privatization thing going over there? Better, worse, same?
