Blimey, worth allot, paid $20 usd for mine about ten years ago.. you can get her other Loadstone release cheap, which is maybe seen as not quite as good, but I think she goes for it on the other track more, 'Frown on her Face' is quite plaintive really against the other sides..deffo worth picking up, Personally I had to have both singles... So your acetate the same as the CD release? I assume so.. if its different I'd be really interested in hearing it... Is it one of those Tim Brown had done to promote the CD, or are they from the assorted masters and what was discovered; reason I mention, is I had 'Happiness is here' Toby Lark from Dave Rimmer at the 100 club about that time, not an original Acetate as I later found out, but one that emanated from the Mill,,,,he even said he felt guilty taking the money off me... you live and learn... no matter I swapped it with John Manship soon after.. Yeah its very classy, sits next her released stuff very well, recorded in the same sessions as Grass is greener / need you like a baby etc...? Mal

ahhhh, there's another one, good backing but I don't rate the vocal, Maybe its a dance floor 'Scene' thing... I'm not looking to knock everything you say mate, its just taste at the end of the day.. I just find the amount of money that's attached to some of these tracks mind boggling, given that some, not all, really are no better than a fifteen quid record, I'm excluding the rarity factor there of course...oh well, some you like, some you don't.. did Frankie who started this thread, ever get any joy... I always thought the backing, and the Drums especially on Carolyn Crawford - My Smile is just a Frown, are just out of this world... actually the drums in this are exquisite.. the backing as a whole is out of this world, and Carolyn's singing is Unbelievable.. is a hard one, but those drums.. what can you say... oh and the vibes...and the piano..... :elvis: Mal

I love buying acetates, but I have to say I'm going off them a bit, as someone said above, unless its a radically different mix, or never seen the light as a release I don't know if its worth the trouble, Ive been burnt a couple times for a reasonable amount of money in both cases, which I suspect has soured their mystique... This said, I paid a reasonable amount of money last week for one, which I actually have the release for already, but its a favorite so will make me glow when I pull it out.. as for the Inspirations, lot of money for a track with no label init... Mal
