Sad News Frank Wilson Has Died
I listen to the Richard Searling interview with Frank all the time, and in a way its kind of lead me to know him, obviously I don't and have never met him, but I'm really shocked by this news. Indeed an absolute legend in the history of Pop Music, all my condolences to his family and friends. Malcolm

A Bit Of The Other Stuff
Love Chris Rea, think this was officially the flip to 'Road to hell', but this particular mix came out in 89, I had back then but now its a buggar to pick up again. Great memories of it being played at the Hummingbird in Birmingham at their early kipper nights.. M

The Importance Of Melba Moore's The Magic Touch
as one of the kids that was turned in the 8ts, I'd plum for Magic Tough as that LP in fact all the Kent LP's were hot property in 2nd and 3rd year.. which would have been 1982/3/4 The only other record which for me was as big maybe a tad later in 85/6/7 was Suspicion - which then was covered as the Detroit Prophets. Columbus Recorders Acetate Of Rick Baker - That's Called Love
Just got a Columbus Recorders Acetate of Rick Baker - that's called love, double sided per the released version I think, with 'Got You' on the flip, very interesting thing, wondered if anybody knows much about Rick, and Columbus Recorders? I know this was picked up in a Goodwill shop in Sacramento, CA. seller said there were several musically similar promotional, DJ-copy 45s from the same time period (nothing noteworthy) in the bin with it, all priced on the same day,so it is speculation that it came from the collection of an ex-radio DJ. One For Ardent Collectors
god that really is tat isn't it... made me giggle though; its the sort of thing my mum used to buy from fates on a Saturday, she would just like the figurine, but would likely have no idea of the context.. I think this chaps trying to market his creations in the wrong place... he should target the WI. Mal.C

Tim Brown Soul Packs
Hard one isn't it, to be honest the room is a factor, I've simply run out of space in my home now, the ceiling is creeping with the weight under my bed, the shelves are full and my beautiful wife keeps telling me, do you need any new records? we all know the answer to that... that said, curiosity is getting the better of me, somebody must have had one, these things are always full of multiple items surely.. Tim Brown Soul Packs
NORTHERN SOUL PACKS £100 inc P&P (overseas customers shipping price on request) After 22 years of offering 100 Northern Soul 45s for £100 we are forced to cease this pack due to increased costs and VAT. This is the last time they will be offered. Your last chance to buy genuine Northern Soul at a quid each. seen this today in sales, I've never bought one of these, but I'm tempted, had anybody? are they worth it? Mal

Which was Cris at groove merchant... Maybe another thread but while we are in San Francisco, I just got a Columbus Recorders Acetate of Rick Baker - thats called love, double sided as is the released version, interesting thing, wondered if anybody knows much about Rick, and Columbus Recorders? Mal

Carrie Cleveland
It's wired that this ever got an issue. The chap I bought mine off in San Francisco said that when he went to visit Carrie she told him she did not like the record, well not that particular cut on the 45, hense it never went past promo copies. My guess is her husband Bill Cleveland and co producer Norris Snowden are the reason for it. Ahhh... Just read Daves post, so the issue is the cut from the lp? That explains things... Malcolm
