Clapping at the right points in the record - essential. Still love the clapping.
  2. Tone it's not a patch on Sigler of course but I kind of like all these "before they were famous" type thingys and also quite like Hall. You will be pleased to know that I have never played it out anywhere though.....Steve
  3. I can still remember being drunk and singing along to the chorus - "woa-woa woa woa"
  4. An old Yarmouth classic - good record
  5. It came from Pat Brady but NOT from his auction - picked it up at a Prestatyn a couple of years back.
  6. ....and Daryel Hall according to my copy. Music was their thing at F/ W not spelling I guess. :-)
  7. Of course you can play off albums - no problem whatsoever, and I have seen several promiment members of the Soul Police do so regularly themselves. The only problems with albums are 1) the sound is often quieter than on a 45 2) you need to lug around a 12" box In fact Mr Plumb from Op Norf did an hour of album tracks at "Essence" last year to a raptuous reception
  8. Must admit wouldn't have thought to carry any Punk around in my playbox.
  9. Soul in Ilminster??? I am often down that way. Is there a scene down there?
  10. I am planning to get to the next Lifeline in October.... Excluding the UK weekenders the last UK Niter was 100 Club 2 years ago. Last overseas Niter was Rimini in July - fantastic because you can sleep on the beach all day.
  11. I actually quite like the Daryl Hall (sic) version of "Girl don't make me wait" which I have on acetate. It's different but good in it's own way.

Haven't been for 15 years but there were several goodish stores there then. One out near the Ice Hockey stadium, and a couple around the city centre - 10 minute walk as long as it's not too cold. However don't expect to find too much in there, it's not a big soul area. And I suspect it's all been cleared out by now. Sorry - try taking a ferry to Victoria, not sure many people go there looking for records, and you never know - supposed to be quite nice...Steve
  15. Oh, so 2007 indie southern soul CD tracks then In which case I am not presently playing any Though I have had my moments in the past See y'awll Sunday at the Coors Visitor Centre!......Steve

I'm here Stuart. Sam dees Plodding disco???? - goodness me I think it's just Rod doing his "If it's post 69 it's garbage" routine for another season and trying to wind us all up. I am not rising to the bait, and if you got nasal problems nor should you my friend.
  22. I was talkin about Sooty and Sweep
