  1. Rocking horse on Ebay good gift for the littles for Christmas. Item number: 290618824172 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290618824172?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_500wt_1361
  2. Well done Chalky lad, good poll this. Not had a poll this varied on this subject before as far as I can recall. Results are going to make interesting reading when it's run it's course.
  3. We create these situations for ourselves (me included), go round in circles and go mad. My own fault for using Deon Jackson SDTSWS carver as an example and I'm heartened by Chalky & Dave jumping on me (in an internet sense). I'd be all miffed if they hadn't. I still say it's relatively simple, if you're charging door tax, you're playing original vinyl. If you want to take a chance with carvers, that's up to you but you best understand the guidelines and if in doubt - ovo. There, subject closed (?)
  4. Respect your honest opinion. So are you saying Keith Money and myself should not be playing the unreleased 'Some day the sun will shine' Deon Jackson track? As bad as a boot in your opinion? (Serious question).
  5. Quite. Or an eight page thread done for the umpteenth time on here! It's simple, if you're charging folk to get in, you must play ovo, otherwise you are ripping punters off. Carver's & such all fine & dandy, folk should know the score by now.
  6. How sorry? Down the end of my road pub function gig, free to get in - pressings fine, but still a bit wiffy & chancerish. Paying to get in = OVO, or 50 lashings from the soul police.
  7. You can get pills for that.
  8. I dunno mag. Minters, schminters. It has to do with real or fake?
  9. You pad thirty quid for the boot?
  10. Yup deadwax inscription only way to tell apparently.
  11. Pat Brady reckons the boot once sold for £100 on Ebay?

    Sold

    huh huh huh
  13. Record re-offerd for sale due to time waster. £52 inc p&p - PayPal as gift - pm me for payment email if interested. Thanks.
  14. Too busy being a bleedin filmstar innit!
  15. Well done Rodders, good luck mate.
  16. Think the YOP one is rarer.
  17. There's a term for those descriptions. 'Sizzle'! You & I are the desperate & needy. You know that right?
  18. Well you've got Lifeline, upfront, popular and an awesome nighter on a good night. Kings Hall equally awesome with the upfront room also.. Think the thing with big oldies nights like Stoke is they are steeped in NS history and this is why they are 1500+ popular. Familiarity = comfort. Pay a tenner to get in and a pony for petrol and it's a crock - "then you've come all this way for fcuk all" (as they used to sing at Highbury. I've moaned about the funk in recent times and this smacks of disappearing up it's own arris in some respects. Though in conclusion to the recent funk chin stroke, everything has it's place and new hard edged black music will and should always be interesting to all of us. Then you've got the 100 Club, one size fits all - and feckin rock on! 32 (count em) years baby..
  19. Stupidity! There's only one John Manship. You can't just assumptively ride on the coat-tails of a 30 year reputation for immaculate vinyl & labels. That's what's always been worth the money.
  20. You may not have a great taste in football teams, ( ) but you've got a great taste in music Liam! Don't ever lose it - 'keep the faith' as the (now long in the tooth - but fook it) saying goes. In the early 90's some of my mates began to peel away and listen to Indie music - not me baby! If I just had Roy Hamilton & Garland Green records to listen to every day, that'd do me. Great thing about our scene is all are welcome, regardless of age, gender or race. It's probably the way Roy Hamilton (or similar) makes them feel, that is why they're there in the first place
  21. Fantastic stuff, thanks!
  22. It would seem so. However I'm not sure how active they were on the scene. Linda's Facebook page is still active (bless her) - zero friends in common. There doesn't seem to be an FB page for the murdering bastard Philip Martins.
