  1. Hi Paul. The account for Dean's show is under my name but unfortunately it isn't a pro account and therefore you can only have 10 shows visible at any one time. I usually have the last ten online. The rest are in draft. I do have copies of shows going back years.
  2. Indeed Tim, underneath all the clouds over him is a collector and lover of the music. He discovered and introduced to the scene many of the great records this scene has to offer. He must have countless stories of what he got up to over there, before anyone else really, both positive and negative and its one story I'd love to hear warts and all. I somehow doubt we will hear all about the negativity though. In doubt the interview will have enough time to cover everything chapter and verse. I\'m still looking forward to hearing what he has to say though.
  3. I hope it isn’t a token gesture or a nod to the good SS did, I hope it gets to the nitty gritty and dodgy stuff he got up to as well. It would be good to get the truth about Soultown, Mirwood etc. this could be one explosive superb interview, he clearly has a story to tell and hopefully it will be told.
  4. John Weston joins Dean and Jez in the studio for two hours of great music and laughs Dean Anderson presents THE SOUND OF SOUL™ 27th Feb 25 8 -10pm **LIVE FACEBOOK CHAT EVERY WEEK** On this show we have the long overdue appearance of John Weston. A die hard soulboy who has graced the scene for 2 score decades. A collector, promoter, record dealer and DJ John has put his shifts in at venues across the nation. As well as all the multi-skilling John Weston is as well known for his slap-stick humour and pee-taking where ever he turns up! Join us the usual quality music and live facebook chat every week.
  5. Anyone got a scan of the 90s boot with date stamp?
  6. Very wide and too yellow as well or is that 5he camera!
  7. The date stamped boot is from the same batch as those not stamped. They simply stamped a date on some, have 25 in my head but not sure. I can ask the lad who did them. Be about 1990 when they were done.
  8. Seems a while since my last mix, don't really get much time at home in front of the computer but here we are with a selection of new, forthcoming and some old selections. Bumper releases from Ace/Kent, The Sly Stone Songbook, More Motown Guys, a Paul Weller compilation. A reissue of the Undisputed Truth Lp and a few Repro releases for good measure. Alex Subinas new LP and the fairest on the Jai Alai imprint. Soul Junctions latest 45, forthcoming from Riker Records, the first two 45s are out now. More tasty releases tom come next month as well, couple things smooth but not yet purchased but will remedy that. Hope you enjoy, a bit of everything in this mix, thanks for listening.
  9. Dean Anderson's Sound of Soul ™ 20th February 2025 8-10pm Every Week with Live Facebook Chat group Every Week, 2 hours of the finest Soul Music.
  10. Personally it's not for me, it's certainly not the best record ever recorded but it is better than some of the crap that masquerades as Northern Soul and far better than most of the funky sh*te we hear these days.
  11. Every thing I read would suggest Phelectron is his actual name? Some articles refer him to being known as Phlecky to his friends?
  12. Just been having a butchers, the art installations is part of the festival too.
  13. Johnnie was born in 1937 and the label named after his brother Ralonzo "Phelectron" Cochran. Johnnie was of course OJ Simpsons lawyer.
  14. Are these the sculpture things? If they are they came over here last year or year before to Chatsworth.
  15. He is a music nut Djs https://longlivevinyl.net/2017/06/01/at-home-with-pat-nevin/
  16. He has posted about it himself on facebook.
  17. I don't think I've heard that side before, if I have I don't recollect. Pretty damn good too, thanks.
  18. He may have been hacked, he can't be cloned and be in Rare Soul Sales though as those who clone would have to join. Ian has been a member for some years and sold and bought over those years with no issues.

  20. There has never been any issues with Ian Burt in the Rare Soul Sales group neither have you contacted any of us admin not complain which I find a bit odd?
  21. The first 5 came from Val Shivley who had bought out the DJ and record shop owner Butterball. They were sold for £200 each. The first to Butch, he was the first I heard play it. Then Carl Fortnum at places like Bradford. The year would be 90/91 I guess. Been a few surface since then. Not as rare as some think but still a rare 45.
  22. Loads about Stafford on my website, stacks of photos and podcasts https://www.soulunderground.co.uk
  23. Bloody hell, what a line up of artists on one comp! Essential.
  24. That maybe so but the Pat Lewis one doesn’t sound like a guide vocal, she sounds exactly like Terri Bryant.
