Rarest Tamla Motown Lp
it isn't the rarest though and not that hard to pick up these days, been a few pretty cheap through eBay.

Ernest Ernie & The Sincerities - 7" release
I did get the price for a UK plant and the difference between 500 and 1000 was about 70 quid. Yes you licence should be a bit more but for the sake of £70 it is surely worth the extra. I know it isn't as straight forward as that but I would have thought a 600 run isn't too much?
-
Ernest Ernie & The Sincerities - 7" release
I quick add up and less than $2000 for a 1000 45s. Add your license if applicable etc. $15 a 45 should give a decent return.

Ernest Ernie & The Sincerities - 7" release
Prices for United Pressing plant.... https://www.urpressing.com/7-inch/
-
Ernest Ernie & The Sincerities - 7" release
The licence probably only allows for inclusion on the Lp. The 45 label took on the rights to press the 45, they could more than likely do a follow up press.
-
Ernest Ernie & The Sincerities - 7" release
But once your artwork done a follow up press is a fraction of the price but why not press 600, can't be much more to press than 300?

Younghearts on ebay - is this kosher?
I didn't see the other photos 🙄 But now I have it looks ok with that delta number etc.
-
Test Pressing
Generally they are written with pen and not marker pen too. Most test presses if written on at the plant would often be by the same person. Motown used to have up to 6, as in the case of Frank Wilson. 2 for Motown, 2 for Jobete and 2 for the plant for file.
-
Ernest Ernie & The Sincerities - 7" release
You would think these artists would like to make a bit of money and meet demand by pressing enough copies
-
Younghearts on ebay - is this kosher?
Its obviously printed off centre but that could just be a fault at printing or pressing, hard to say without full details, run out etc
-
Test Pressing
What is in the run out Steve, same as the issue?
-
Test Pressing
You usually see a few test pressings done, half dozen give or take.

80s All-nighter footage
Betty Lavette 100 Club in 1990 then some allnighter footage at the Yarmouth Wekender same year.

80s All-nighter footage
I think it is all computer generated. I hope they see sense when they review my challlenge. All the tracks are on youtube straight from the record.

Ernest Ernie & The Sincerities - 7" release
Pathetic isn’t it Mark. Those like you who paid for a download and played it out and got a response deserve the plaudits. I played it on the radio off a memory stick over Christmas 😜

80s All-nighter footage
Some of you may find this interesting to watch, some footage from allnighters in the late 80s early 90s? 100 Club, Shotts, Yarmouth, Bradford. Had to delete some of it as the vhs video is about buggered. Not sure how long it’ll be up, three or four copyright claims from the record compainies already

Ernest Ernie & The Sincerities - 7" release
I have never bought i to the OVO shite that is bandied about by some, they make half of it up as they go along to suit. We never worried about ovo crap until recently. Who is gonna tell Ernest Ernie we can’t play their 45 because it is a reissue? I have never seperated Lp releases and 45 release, foreign and local releases like some. Lp, 45, download, all original formats. The flip of the 45 isn’t on the Lp and so on.....just the same as 7” and Lp releases from previous years. They have an Lp out later this year, no doubt this will be on it.

Ernest Ernie & The Sincerities - 7" release
Think the download was earlier 😜 All original as far as I’m concerned.

Ernest Ernie & The Sincerities - 7" release
Which Lp?
-
Ernest Ernie & The Sincerities - 7" release
Is it a limited release? I’ve not seen any mention to say it is. Hopefully another run will be done and back in stock as plenty had copies to sell initially.

Sandy Golden - Your Love Is Everything on CD?
I haven't compared side by side, only heard the a clip of the sonic wax one, but I didn't hear anything different to the Masterpiece 45.
-
Sandy Golden - Your Love Is Everything on CD?
I doubt Sandy even knows Sonic Wax issued the 45 or Sonic Wax was in touch with Sandy. If they got the rights they will be via Nate Fortier. Either that or they simply paid a fee to the music publishing organisation, ASCAP/BMI and claim the rights holder couldn't be found. Neither Nate nor Sandy respond to any attempts at contact I have made. I know Nate had health problems, stroke or something like a few years ago.

The Rise And Fall Of HMV
With just a few companies swallowing up all the labels to skim the cream from the top, it was inevitable that they would bring about their own downfall in someway as they have no interest in the so called acts relegated to as someone pointed out two for a tenner, relying on the back catalogue to reap them the rewards and somewhat forgetting to push new music that was struggling for promotion. We have also seen the big revival in vinyl yet the companies just see it as another way to rip off customers, £20 plus for a vinyl Lp compared to free on Spotify, it doesn't take a genius to work out the shops will struggle, especially with a market that wasn't about when vinyl production was just about stopped.
