  1. Never had a problem, bought and sold plenty. Just check the feedback like you would ebay. The vast majority are honest and reputable but like any market place there are also thieves and scammers. If younuse paypla you won’t have a problem getting your money back and discogs themselves are usually quick to act and pretty good Many of the old ebay sellers have gone to discogs as have many dealers. First place that comes up on a search and the biggest market place now.
  2. What a great show it was too.
  3. I’ve already supplied them with flyers. Currently putting a playlist together for them for a show.
  4. No extra copies, if anything probably less than there used to be. Just demand as Mick says. Quite a few of the releases can be got for 50 quid or less, others that are no Northern classics are 100 plus.
  5. Available to buy, get your copy before they are gone!
  6. depends if they remake the stampers, if they use the same it won't be a reissue
  7. Isn't this getting a repress and an Lp release soon?
  8. Last nights show (12th April) with special guest and another legend of the soul scene Ian Dewhirst
  9. Two hours of quality chat and music with the legendary Kev Roberts
  10. I ws once asked for Lionel Ritchie at a nighter 😂
  11. Was around 400 not so sure these days
  12. It didn’t think it was mega rare, copies well into double figures? Especially going by the chat elsewhere. Still rare mind.
  13. Too much good stuff on cds for them to be ignored. Unissued etc from the likes of Ace/Kent and other such companies. Some quality new stuff too, I prefer hard copy if possible rather than a download or streaming.
  14. I r3ceived my email today 🙄 I will be sending for the refund.
  15. Get your hands dirty as they say, look at everything on the label and in the run out grooves, discogs and 45cat can help with identification as do many other places. Forums are very good for asking questions, no matter how daft they seem, not just here but facebook especially has some excellent informative groups and instagram is getting more and more popular. Many collectors with a vast amount of knowledge who are more than happy.
  16. Not received anything yet nor is there anything on line?
  17. Certainly not mate. Just saying that it isn't just the mainstream that is years behind and that most of the big records have been around for many years now. The biggest tracks are the ones that have been popular for some years on both sides of the 60s/northern scene. I heard newer stuff at the weekend and they clear the floor even though they are/were IMO better dancers. So in answer to the original question the biggest records are still the same ones as before.
  18. It'll never happen as the scene is not as simple as 60s, 70s or 80s anymore. It is far more diverse.
  19. Some of the so called upfront/rare scene Djs are ten years behind. Getting the records the likes go Butch, Andy etc had years ago, or the funky edge crap that wasn't considered good enough years ago and they think they are cutting edge.
  20. How can you say out isn't a dance floor winner? Packs the floor whenever I have seen it played and more and more Djs getting behind it, 3k a copy, fckin barmy.
  21. 10/15 years after Rod it went for big money or began to after it had been revived. Quite a lot of copies out there too, more than people realise.
  22. First played early 90s. Revived early 2000s by Andy Dyson then hammered by all who could get a copy.
  23. At same time I think though not 100%
  24. Papa Bear is a floorpacker for Ted Massey, Ginger etc. Was revived at Lifeline early 2000s and subsequently hammered by anyone who could get one of the many copies out there. Very few big new discoveries, if any, certainly mainstream.
