Looking back, PSC at Wirrana from 1979 with Ken Cox over at the Fleet? until the PSC clashed with Ken (EASC) forcing Ken Cox to call it a day, PSC then took over the Fleet in 1982 until 1986. Then RSG. Chris Burton promoting at Wirrana in 83/4 and then the PSC deliberately clashed resulting in a bomb hoax at the Wirrana (I have ben told the details btw but I won't repeat in public). Who was running the Stamford event?

OK some info.... The E.A.S.C. was initially Paul Donnelley and co at the Wirrana. Ken Cox then registered the name after they had had two or three all-nighters, because of this the Phoenix Soul Club came into being. The council closed the all-nighters down in 1976 and said no more all-nighters would be held in Peterborough. The Fleet then came into being three years later. SO.... Who was first at the Fleet...Peterborough Soul Club? Run by Dave Reid, Keith Wilcox and Stuart Gordon (and his bossy Mum as former attendees called her). Tony Clayton also getting involved later? Until when? 1984 Then came the Dedicated Soul Club in May 1984 going by Steve's flyer run by Dave Reid. Around this time Chris Burton attempted to muscle in on the action holding all-nighters at the Wirrana on the same nights as established local Promotions resulting in a bomb hoax at one all-nighter at which Junior Walker & Eddie Holman were appearing live. Fair to say that the mix of Skinhead and Scooterists and Northern Soul lovers didn't mix well and trouble was to flare on numerous occasions. Anything to correct or add?

Bomb scare I have heard about, which venue and promoter/promotion was the target of the scare?

Hope you are well mate. I know Jon Buck and Danny Everard ran nighters mid to late 80's. I know Ken Cox was there 80-82? Need to know what clubs have been involved, who ran them and of course the politics that was obviously happening.

Following on from the EASC topic what is the history of the Peterboro allnighters? EASC for the first couple of years or so of th decade? What was the clashing that finished EASC and who took over etc.

Great info guys. I just need the basics for the 70's, who when and where etc. It is the 80's I am more interested in and especially so Peterborough.

Allnighters the same Chris, still 10/12 quid. Been that for donkeys. Go to a "normal"clubs and you will pay a lot more, often 4,5 or 6 times more for the decent clubs. Trouble is too many promoters out to undercut others, some afraid of losing customers if they up the fee and the worst are the punters, many who complain about the prices charged now. Plenty still do whatever they can to get in free as well.

Not gonna argue over its value but it ain't very good, just rare. If it wasn't rare no one would bother with it.

London's Chosen Mass.......

I can't remember. I remember the Paddocks Club, opposite The Mirror building. We couldn't find so dumped car at St Pauls and got a cab we werevsurprised the car was still where we left it cant remember if that was a Chosen Mass event.

It will be basically the allnigter scene as that is what it is all about really. There will be a chapter for influential soul nights, ones people travelled too so Lenny's may get a mention there is no way I could mention every soul night as there are simply too many. I couldn't mention all the allnigters either, far too many that ran just briefly. I will devote a chapter or two to the rest of the world so any of our oversees Soul Brothers and Sisters who have promoted let me have your story. same for weekenders, chapter for those. will probably devoted some space to the influential Djs of the time as well and to soen of the music too. Plenty to go at so any info will be greatly appreciated. Any scans (flyers/adverts) and photos would be magic. Need to be 300dpi though if scan or a loan of the material if possible and I wil return everything.

Pretty sure I have the flyers still for one of the Chosen Mass venues. Paddocks club another of Ion's, can't remember if Paddocks was Chosen Mass, will check the flyer.

Not many blank weekends for quite some time though Rob. I have a diary boxed up somewhere with 104 allnighters in one year 1987 or 1988. I can also remember one weekend with six allnigters.....so not a lot changed in reality in some instances. Like you say, great times for many.

Hi Steve. If I could loan the photos etc that would be great, especially dancefloor and venue type ones. I can scan whayt I need and return them, full credit of course. Just need to sort my room out, nearly done painting and then I can start on the book.
