Promoters Booking Events At Other Promoters Venues. Is This Right?
Take Butlins and Kings Hall out of the equation, the rest are all after the same crowd. 137 miles is nothing for the all-nighter crowd who travel on a regular basis. Some just seem to have no respect for other promoters or promotions. There isn't room for the ever increasing number of promotions, it is simply splitting the crowd. One or two on this topic have had more clashes than the Titans. There is a complete lack of morals, etiquette and respect on the scene today.

Promoters Booking Events At Other Promoters Venues. Is This Right?
All Chris seems to have done since reappearing is piss off other promoters. He just doesn't seem to give a f*** about anyone or anything else.

Awesome Richard Searling Spot At Wigan
Richard played Tommy Ridgely as part of my top 3 on his show today. I mentioned that I never realised it was one of his Wigan spins and he said it was news to him as well. So I sent him the set list and he said it is all spot on apart from in his words "All look correct except I never played Wilbur Walton or Tommy R".

The Stafford Story: On Top Of The World - The Stafford All-Nighters
Been a while since I did a podcast for the Stafford Story so here we present one featuring the plays of Keith Minshull. Keith Minshull, a somewhat unsung hero of the scene who rarely gets the recognition he deserves. Keith was running all-nighters at the Top Of The World prior to it becoming the Stafford we know. He teamed up with Dave Thorley and began promoting all-nighters under the Top Dog Soul Club banner in early 1982, the rest is history. As with this set, not all are discoveries or first played by Keith. There are some Casino biggies, particularly for Richard Searling, some Stafford “oldies”, Dave Withers with the unissued Motown for instance and the odd spin or two for Gary Rushbrooke, all along side some plays made popular by Keith. One thing is for sure Keith’s last hour spots were enjoyed many many and he he certainly knew how to work a floor. Holman’s Hero’s — Eddie’s My Name (Inst) - Unissued Barbara Lewis — I Still Remember The Feeling — Atlantic Originals — Suspicion — Unissued Motown Marvelettes — The Boy From Crosstown — Unissued Motown (Lillian Dupree - The Boy That I Love) Marvelettes — Sugar’s Never Been As Sweet — Unissued Motown (Patti Gilson & Tonettes — Sugar’s Never Been As Sweet) Elbie Parker — Please Keep Away From Me — Veep Admirations — You Left Me — Peaches Danny Owens — I Can’t Be Your Fool Anymore — Manhatten (Bell Boys — Can’t Be A Fool) Paris — Sleepless Nights — Doc Kenny Wells — Isn’t It Just A Shame — New Voice Greg Perry — It Takes Heart — Alpa Cody Marshall — The Thought Of Losing You — Sound Judgement (Pierré Hunt) NuRons — All Of My Life — NuRon (Lamarr Thomas & The Chains That Bind — All Of My Life Waiting For You) Jan Jones — Independent Woman — Daywood Prince Philip Mitchell — I’m So Happy — Atlantic Jimmy McFarland — Lonely Lover — RPR Larry Laster — Go For Yourself — Loma Kenny Carlton — Lost And Found — Blue Rock Howard Guyton — I Watched You Slowly Slip Away — Verve Johnny Watson — South Like West (Inst) — Okeh Eddie Parker — I’m Gone — Awake Damon Fox — Packin’ Up - Fairmount Yvonne Vernee — Just Like You Did Me — Sonbert Executive Four — We Got A Good Thing Going — Lu-Mar Johnny Honeycutt — I’m Coming Over — Triode Magnetics — Lady in Green — Bonnie Seven Souls — I Still Love You — Okeh Sam Fletcher — I’d Think It Over — Tollie Deon Jackson — I Still Remember The Feeling — Deon Jackson LP track previously unissued Carla Recording. Sharon Mcmahon's "where There Is Love"-Was It Released?
Don Gardner said the same about Cheating Kind as did many artists about their material. The one found was a Columbia demo I think so in that sense she is correct, never issued.

What constitutes going big? going from a 20/30 record to 150 quid? It has had constant plays on the scene for nigh on 30 years, been a very popular track for DJ's from my experience over these years. All of a sudden someone pays what many reckon is a daft amount and it's rarely been played prior to this? I don't know the demagraphics of those buying it but I doubt very much the majority are 20 somethings Don't get me wrong it is great to see records like this getting attention but common sense seems to go out of the window as usual with this scene.

Sharon Mcmahon's "where There Is Love"-Was It Released?
It was a one off acetate but sure one was found some years ago on Columbia, John Manship sold to Sam I believe. I think if memory serves me correctly Richard Searling played it other week on his radio show so probably has the Columbia one now.

John Manship Auction Results 3 - 12 - 2014
Irene and the Scotts has been played long before recent times. I was playing it late 80's early 90's and plenty of others have over the years. It is no more popular now with collectors than say 15/20 years ago, it is probably the johnny come lately dj's who are now cottoning onto it and pushing the price up. There are copies out there to satisfy demand, we've seen no end for sale in recent times, every week practically. That is probably the reason for the dismay in the price hike?

- Irene And The Scott's - I'm Stuck On My Baby
Radcliffe was busy in the record bar last week, busiest I've seen it for a while, Lifeline usually pretty busy, all tables taken anyway. Not all nighters busy though, 100 Club hardly any other week. I and others though have noticed more money being spent when out and about but have to agree it is easier on line these days, especially if you have specific wants.- News: How To Sing Your Way Out Of Jail: The Charles L. Blakely Story
- Lee Tillman & Secrets - The Delacardos "she's The One I Love"
I asked Guy Mark and here is his answer.... No Chalky, I may have played in an all-Dayer oldies spot at the time, but defo not TOTW. It was played at early Wigan, and the other take/version was pretty common.- Forgotten Monsters From Wigan Etc Days
Trade Martin not particularly forgotten just extremely rare, one acetate copy and owned by Richard still as far as I'm aware. same for Jimmy Delphs, not many have a copy so not likely to hear it too often.- Lee Tillman & Secrets - The Delacardos "she's The One I Love"
Asked on the Stafford group and not remembered on there either for any plays back then.- Lee Tillman & Secrets - The Delacardos "she's The One I Love"
One of those I don't have a DJ for from that era. Used to get em on tape swaps. - Four Perfections Event and New 45 Latest - 29th Nov 2014
