  1. I bet the royals swear as much as anyone behind closed doors Probably, I didn't dare look.
  2. Don't forget though that many in the Tracky, when I started DJing there hadn't heard what I had before. Hal Miller would be another he borrowed which was a big nighter spin at the time.
  3. Grey I think Pete off top of my head.
  4. Dave Raistrick told me that he had a stack of the King George on Midtown and they wouldn't sell and he thought he would be stuck with them. Next thing he knows Keb has covered it up and started playing it and the lot went
  5. You have missed out at least one cd before the Detroit one, it was called Soul On CD surprisingly enough. That was as far as I am aware the very first Northern Soul CD? I have it at home and can scan the cover etc if need be.
  6. He'd get a few out of mine as well, Kurt Harris being one.
  7. I've a recording of Bub at the Winding Wheelin Chesterfield, I will upload it to mixcloud over the weekend.
  8. He used to end with Michael if my memory serves me correctly in honour of his mate who tragically died.
  9. Just checked Kirsty and it was covered as Jock Mitchell. Dunno why on the tape I've got he played it as Gene McDaniels, i'll have to go back and re listen when I get the chance? Pete Lawson sold it to Keb and even Pete says he covers it as JM.
  10. I have Bill Lucas on tape as Gene Mcdaniels. Keb could have used Jock Mitchell as well as he had a habit of covering stuff up with two names. Have him on tape where he does that at least twice in the same set
  11. George has been to Lifeline a couple of times, Cleggy and other places. He DJ'ed at Radcliffe recently. He is on face book and here as Monkey.
  12. Chalky replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
It was a Stafford spin for Keb Darge.
  13. Shouldn't you state that these aren't original studio acetates?
  14. Ey up Edwin, nah it's the Dream Merchants. George Pepp was a George Sharp spin at that time, he got the first copy from Tim Ashibende.
  15. I've emailed the list to Pat, hopefully he'll get back as soon as he sees the list.
  16. It may not have been as widespread, collectors may have at one time focused on one particular area but Knowledge has always been there, you only have to look at fanzines and magazines from the past to see that. The big difference was at one time you had to look through records week in week out, actually go out and talk to other collectors where as now far to many just glean the info from others via the Internet.
  17. Big help that mate I try not to use anything I'm not sure about and most importantly if no one else is sure about. I will, send the ones left to Pat see if he can remember. Thanks for everyone else's input. Any info on the others would be appreciated. Need to be sure though on what they really are. I didn't realise how much modern Pat played till I began gathering the tracks for his podcasts.
  18. Thanks for your help so far Guys.
  19. Great Stafford spin for Pat Brady, never considered it crossover though, out and out 60's IMO.
  20. Paul Sindab was a Wigan spin so we sorta discounted that one. Watch Yourself could be Al Gardner or Tony Hester, Eddie Hubbard gonna check a few things later. Dream Merchants possibility.
  21. Yes, recorded by Brenda Hollaway, which is the track Dobber is talking about. Also recorded by Shorty Long and The Supremes according to Don't Forget The Motor City.
  22. Can anyone identify the following tracks that Pat played at Stafford? Unknown "You Can't Mean It" Unknown "My Life's Changing" Unknown "You Always Put Me Down" Unknown "If It Makes You Feel Good" Unknown "Watch Yourself" Unknown "After All This Time" Unknown "You Just Left Me Memories" Unknown "We've Got Nothing To Hide" Unknown "Only A Matter Of Time" Unknown "I'm Uptight" Unknown "No More Bad Feeling" Unknown "As True As Can Be" Unknown "It Can't Always Be" Unknown "If Only They Knew" Unknown "I Just Can't Go Back" Unknown "All The Love I Need" Unknown "My Baby (Ain't Going Nowhere)" Unknown "Just Can't Let You Go" Unknown "The Spy Trap" Unknown "Everybody Knows (I Love You)" Unknown "That's What I Need" Unknown "I'll Never Let You Go" Unknown "You're Breaking My Heart" Unknown "Mine And Only Mine" Unknown "Just Keep On Loving Me" Unknown "Love's Got To Be Right" First one cold be Curly Moore. Watch Yourself could be Tony Hester. Just Keep On Loving Me could be Lee Jennings or Steve Mancha or the Halos??
  23. If Mark played it as Charles Diamond and the Inspirations then it was a cover up name as this Inspirations isn't related to the Joey Jefferson group. There are two takes though, the one Butch has and the one Tim Brown has/had, same group different lead. Both takes are out on CD, the Philly cd's from Kent and Goldmine/Soul Supply.
  24. AC Reed "My Baby' s Been Cheating.
  25. Far more knowledgeable scene but it hasn't stopped it being dumbed down and turned virtually into a retro dance scene. You would think that all the knowledge would be put to good use at venues.
