  1. R.I.P. Major. Major by name Major by talent as well. One of the greatest tracks ever laid down was "Call Me Tomorrow" in my opinion. Also love "Loving You Is Mellow". I was playing an unissued take by the Aristocrats out a few years ago.
  2. No worries pete and no need to apologise. I agree you have been nothing but truthful and acted correctly throughout.
  3. I'd already written that many don't understand second issue/reissue, especially non UK collectors not well versed in the northern soul collecting malarky. Reissue and 2nd issue is technically legitimate and so many can assume that when a disc is described as 2nd issue or as a reissue it is legit. So its Nothing to do with disagreeing with you, I simply saw what Bob had written while I was writing a reply so I simply liked what he wrote rather than bother to reply so stop being so paranoid. I do understand your frustration and I'm not defending the guy, he's behaved like a dick and can't understand why he didn't ask the questions before he bought it, but maybe he should be allowed to explain himself before the vultures start to pile in and crucify him? If he still acts like a dick then he deserves what he gets.....or is it too late and they smell blood and sense a kill.
  4. Last Stafford February 1986.
  5. I'll get the CD's from John Ciba, give me something to read.
  6. Is the booklet comprehensive? I thought I had at least one but can't find it. Now a choice of the download or the CD.
  7. Haven't seen it mentioned or Ive missed it but R&B In dies only has one listed for the early ones.... 105 Chosen Son's Of God - He Watches Over Me/How I Got Over PRP-10021/PRP10022 then the two David Sea discs, 54 Elizabeth D. Williams listed above and then 122 Friendly Five Quartet - Dressing Room/You've Been Blessed.
  8. Hope he sounds better Saturday Ali
  9. Picking mine up on the door Jim. Se you there.
  10. Seeing as a few are enjoying these here's more from the studio....
  11. Be good to see you mate, really looking forward to this now.
  12. Did Chris Plant have Karmello Brooks for £25....was told someone did around d the time he sold up? What is he doing now?
  13. You'd have to be extremely lucky to get Ollie Jackson for a fiver.

You are probably right Steve. Hi Greg, thanks for clearing that. Steve G is probably right and it was probably "play chart". Those100 copies got spread about a bit though and got some use which is a good thing.

I would think it is safe to assume there was further presses after the initial 100 wouldn't you agree? If it charted several states and Canada and TV exposure gained because of this I would think it was off the back of more an 100 sales? Great story anyway regardless of what you think of the merits of the record. Welcome to Soul Source Greg.
  16. There has been at least two Lou Ragland's other than this one on eBay recently, one in ex nick other not so, and one on here
  17. Pleasure Mike but it is Mouse and Boxy that need thanking for filming them. I've simply put them out there for others to watch. Have to agree it is fascinating to watch them work. There are about 50 of these clips where they are simply working in the studio. I've then got to get the ones where the band are laying the tracks down which once I do I will upload a few.
  18. I'd like to see one the size of the record collector guide, it wold be thicker but wouldn't bother me....I'd still like to see the iPad/iPhone app. I wouldn't like to see anything omitted, they are a great reference guide (label, artist etc) irrespective of the price.
  19. I think popsike have removed a lot of content as well recently. Like you say use as many sources as possible but stick to the set sale prices, always more accurate than auction prices.
  20. It was Sidney Barnes who said it was the Ad-Libs back in 2001 (give or take a year), it was at the Dome if I remember rightly. Prior to this it was still played as Patti Austin. Anyway, one of the previous owners made a couple of acetates and this'll probably be one of them.
  21. True Marc but it doesn't make it any rarer than it already was so no real need for any significant price hike, always been rare and in demand when up for sale. Guess it is up to the buyer in reality.
  22. Yep I'd agree with you regarding that one. Would seem many aren't bothered about condition these days and happy to pay near mint prices for lesser condition discs.
  23. Is this the cover of the Artistics Bob, "Hope we have"? Cant play the divshare file on the ipad. Dave Thorley used to have it covered up few years ago, don't hear it much, if at all over here nowadays.
