  1. Sorry deffo = definitely.
  2. I think this topic has the link to he relevant interview...
  3. The story of Jock Mitchell/James Barnes is on here somewhere. Deffo the same person.
  4. I have a single sided demo copy I'd be willing to let go. It's vg+, few light marks nothing serious, plays well. PM me with an offer.
  5. Guy had this at Stafford. It went to Tony Smith who sold it to Carl. It was the only known copy for years till this one turned up. I don't know of any more copies, not to say that here isn't somewhere.

It works both ways. I've replied to a want with a fair price, often cheaper than it is worth yet those asking think they can take the p*ss because we are all fellow members of soul source and tell you they are only willing to pay what amounts to two thirds its actual value. I've stopped responding to many wants and I know others have too. It would save all the hassle if those asking for a want gave a price they were willing to pay.
  8. "Just a little Misunderstanding" was completed in March 1966. Joe Stubbs left after this and Edwards joined, is this right? So going by the RCA matrix Gareth mentions he more than likely recorded this before joining Motown and the Contours? Maybe Berry Gordy got wind of this recording and not wanting it to interfere with what he was now doing with the Contours made sure it never got released?
  9. Just found this site, shows the different designs and the distributors.....R&B Indies need to do a bit more homework. https://45-sleeves.com/USA/goldwax/gold-us.htm
  10. The scan for 113 is the type of font R&B Indies has for the releases 108 - 112 so they have some wrong info from somewhere. I think you have all the variants though showing??? Someone will correct me if wrong somewhere.
  11. The design on this release, curved with the disc is from the 300 series and began in 1966. The Veltones Tony mentions is 301, the Ovations was the first on this design according to R&B Indies, 300 "Don't Cry". Initially distributed by London (1st release only 910 William Wigfall & The Lyrics)) but quickly moved to Tollie/Vee Jay for all the releases 101 - 120. According to R&B Indies 4 designs before the 300 series, all variants of a block type font...clearly wrong though. 901 101 - 107 108 - 112 113 -120 300 series blue styrene
  12. It is obvious Spike isn't talking about the same type of disco as being discussed in the other topic. I'm sure there is another topic on here where "The best disco in the world" was discussed at length. it was said there was no trophy or presentation, just some comment in Billboard and carried on in B&S.
  13. Nice post Dave, good to get the history of something told as it was/is. Is the Winsford anniversary 45 a boot as well? Did they get proper licensing?
  14. Think a few memories suffering the same Steve
  15. Here is a previous topic where Dave and John Manship explain more about the original acetates.
  16. The Four Temples was wrongly credited as the act that recorded this track on the CD. Don't know where Goldmine got their info from but it was wrong, think Tim said Four Temples was written on a tape box or something like. Pretty sure in the interview with BobA they confirmed they were never known or recorded as the Four Temples.
  17. Linda & Pretenders was covered up as Frankie and the Classicals by Guy.
  18. No worries Bob, I was confused by your confusion
  19. That scan is the one that went through eBay I think and believe to be a fake. Sure Dave Thorley said it isn't like the labels on his acetates and sure the originals are credited to the Ringleaders. Both ten inch the ones through JM Simon.
  20. What confusing Bob? Steve said it was an actual first press not a bootleg, I simply said it was most definately a bootleg as done without permission. What is confusing about that?
  21. I only know of the two acetates that now live with Butch, the titles which Garth mentions. Didn't they live with a Cambridgeshire/east of England collector for many years before JM auctioned them?
