The Taxman and digital sales
Our local chippie won't take card, they probably don't declare the takings??? But many establishments want cashless and many bars and hotels take card only.

The Taxman and digital sales
Whilst all that is true, many hobbyists are actively trying to avoid import duties and VAT although VAT is added at source now. But on records that are not cheap a lot of import duty is avoided and that is what they will come after. They will have a list of everything sold, supplied but the platforms to the HMRC to a department at the HMRC that will deal with this.

Discogs look what I own
Can we have a link or example then we might be able to make an informed contribution, otherwise topics like this are pretty pointless. Discogs, regardless of the anomalies is still one of the best places to sell. I’ve sold stuff on there I would never have sold here, facebook or elsewhere.

Discogs look what I own
I have better things to do with my life than worry about what others claim to have on discogs. I just use the site for a value or to buy something.

Wigan Casino - Its Influence, Its Legacy... A Panel Event at 'Museum of Wigan Life'
I’m not saying for a minute the venue itself is detrimental. It is the constant fixation of a pretty narrow selection of records, week in week out that is detrimental. Would you watch top of the pops from 1978 on rewind for 50 years?
-
Wigan Casino - Its Influence, Its Legacy... A Panel Event at 'Museum of Wigan Life'
There are tons of records that could be getting played including loads from Wigan era that have been neglected in favour of the top 200. It is how much you spend on a record that gets you a dj booking.

Wigan Casino - Its Influence, Its Legacy... A Panel Event at 'Museum of Wigan Life'
That was exactly what my question about The Casino being detrimental to the scene in the years that followed especially today. The constant looking back and the same old same being the musical focus for the vast majority of venues has to have a detrimental effect. I known for a fact it is driving people away, not just the mainstream but the so called upfront and crossover venues, it's the same records as 20 years ago, its boring and like watching an episode of top of the pops for 40 years or so.

ELBIE PARKER
Len Barry sounds white all day long to my cloth ears? I'm not saying Elbie is white but he doesn't sound black, not like LBP? As for the source, I wasn't referring to you but to those who put the alias up on Discogs etc. As for the guitar? I would imagine being a Untied Artist label the very best of New York session musicians involved?
-
ELBIE PARKER
I've listened to the Shrine stuff, Watch Your Step and a couple of others and I'm still convinced they sound nothing like each other. Ellie Parker sounds almost white to me whereas LBP is definitely black, that is very clear. I'd be very surprised if if Elbie is LBP. I'd love to know the source those others who claim this use?

Little Richard and the Upsetters
I have tried to add information that I knew to be fact, trying to correct inaccuracies on the site and got voted down a few times. Some of the inaccuracies had no source yet it was allowed over fact, barmy way to run the wikepedia of records and the artists.
-
ELBIE PARKER
I'd have serious doubts to him being Little Bobby Parker, I certainly wouldn't reply on the source on Discogs, well there isn't a source, he just added an alias. Countless times they get it wrong who adds the info, putting something up that might be as a fact with nothing to back it up. Upon listening to each of them, they sound nothing like each other.

Colin Curtis, if you like your Jazz (not for me really) but he always drops in the odd superb Northern/Mecca/Soul mix, especially his once a month shows with a collector. All 4 hour long too. https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/colincurtis And Mark Merry's excellent Soul Sermon every Sunday as I mentioned earlier https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/soulsermonmixup
