  5. I think all had an official release Trev. I can double check later as got I most for the Stafford Story podcasts. I'll have to listen and check up on The Stranger though. All the Marvelettes should be on the two Anthology album releases.

no what is long over due is a price drop on those that have had silly price rises.
  7. It's a soul night......
  8. too many listening I think, server can't cope
  9. it's dropped off a couple of times, not for long though.
  10. The golden rule though is if you know nothing about a particular disc, get as many opinions as possible, don't stick to one guide. There is hell of a lot goes on at nighters and soul nights and this has an effect on prices, demand etc. Plus new boots appear on a weekly basis and it is damn hard to keep track of some of them.

You said everyone jumped on the bandwagon when it isn't true, it was already well known and an expensive record years ago, Manship has it at £450 in his third guide, 2007, whether guide price right or not is debatable but the price didn't go up with a few spins from Karl.
  12. Deano live on air right now..... https://www.tulip-radio.org/
  13. Not so much as evidence of involvement from Soussan although there's a strong case, just that I wouldn't have thought this would have got near Hollywood atb the time.
  14. I've sent Loraine the link so hopefully she will say something soon. The address on the acetate tells you something wrong to me.

Sorry if already answered but Butch covered it up as the Volcanoes.
  16. I agree with you Bob. I buy any guide or book published and agree Manship's latest guide is invaluable for boots. I'd like to see an up to date stand alone boot guide though.

Those I have had contact with do enjoy the recognition and you are right it is great if they get a few quid. Some are also aware of their material used without permission as well, that is why I was interested in the mechanics and how it worked out and who got what. Some of these re-issue labels apparently use loop holes in other countries to avoid some payments and there are plenty of rumours around about dodgy practices by some. I doubt one of the singers involved get a penny if they have no writing or production credits etc? This site has had such discussions lately and this topic seemed a good way to see how it worked with Harthon being a well known name and those involved still about. I also said that I'd heard one party had bought the masters and wondered who would then get the money or if any money would have to be paid if you owned the masters?
  21. Just spotted this Chambers Brothers on Ebay from China........

I've heard some myself think they will get rich when at the end of the day it will in reality amount to a few quid.

But many of those involved at Harton are by and large contactable, Holman, James etc. As Paul said Eddie Holman has writing credits on 11 of the tracks involved. I can imagine other labels being far more difficult to ensure those involved get their royalties.

How much does a license for one of these 45's cost and for a 28 track cd? Hope you don;t mind me asking, just curious as are many others. There are a lot of rumours around about some UK re-issue labels and most not good if you know what I mean.
