  1. 1987 the Kool Kat lp. I presume Chris King and Guy got the tapes or summit like on a trip in the mid 80's, probably from Popcorn???
  2. I'll Be Your Champion was on the Kool Kat lp from the Stafford era days (maybe a bit later, I'll have to check if there is a date on the lp)
  3. I think Bob is from Yorkshire originally. Doesn't mince his words does he :-)

I noticed Sho Me 1982 yet Juana 1981. I think it's a fabulous dancer for its pace. Always in my play box.

As as seller, you should factor any fees into your sale price, if you pay VAT you don't give a price then charge the customer an extra 20% to cover your tax bill do you. You factor any charges, tax etc into your price. If any prospective buyer isn't happy with the price you offer then they can either negotiate or go elsewhere.

"Take Another Look" is simply fantastic. R.I.P. Larry.
  11. Never heard or aware of Tim playing this out, not saying he didn't have one just not played it out. I know or pretty sure Andy had his a long time but wasn't right for the time so his was filed. Ady Croasdell had one years filed away which eventually went to Mick H. It was known and in collections, not just Funk collectors either as alluded to.
  12. Not that I'm aware Marc. As far as I know it was Wrighty and sure Ian said Butch got one a couple of weeks later , it's on soul source somewhere. Matters little who played it first really.
  13. I tried to get em in one of them Mace but it was full of R&B. ;-)
  14. As promised the Keith Curtiss sound file. Sorry for extra post. 53. Keith Curtiss - I Got To Keep You Baby Smoke G- (I never ever put records up for offers but a mate found this a few years ago on a trip, and asked me to list it for him. The record is in poor shape with a crack that doesn't sound or effect play that runs about a third into playing grooves also has label fade, listen to sound clips - plenty of pops and crackles etc. but it does play through fine, I guess this would be fine to DJ with or file away until a cleaner copy comes along! curtis keith- a-b.mp3

  21. I understand what you are saying Dave believe me. I love the Hytones and Imperial C's as well.
  22. shouldn't that be t t t t t t t t*ts gotta agree with Keith (I think) four CD's everyone should own. Time I had another listen so I think I'll get them on the iPod for work.
  23. I've asked that he edits this, when he does I will do the same with your reply Nev if that is ok?
  24. Not strictly true, some on the scene did know it....but by the time it started getting attention Ian Wright had played it uncovered so what is the point covering it up.
  25. But thats not the point though is it Dave, the Imperial C's and Hytones just two oldies and The Hopkins Brothers is today, regardless of its quality it packs the dance floor just as much as the two records you mention. Gareth sums it up perfectly, if Butch and Andy and the likes of them call it a day then these records wouldn't have come to the stage they are at now and the Hopkins Brothers wouldn't have known a thing about what is happening to their record. I know Ian Wright played this just before Butch but he is basically on a different scene and doubt it would have got the attention it is getting now. Some of those releasing material like this are living off the back of the Rare Soul/all-nighter scene. Many of the comments form some area form someone who has no understanding or knowledge of todays all-nighter scene and the difficulties in breaking new records. I also though Derek's second sentence to be out of order as well.
