  1. You can hear it in my podcast...bout half way through I think https://www.soulunderground.co.uk/blog/
  2. Rob Moss originally found it and it was given to one or two to get cut, it is unissued, not even listed in Motown files as far as I no. I've been playing it for about 4 or 5 years, think it had it's first outing at Lifeline, could be wrong.
  3. Nice one, thanks
  4. from 1982 covered up as Deon Jackson - I Might As Well Be Dead. Anyone remember what it was? Got a few of us stumped that one.
  5. didn't know anything about this, nice one Tim will order one later on.
  6. The second room at Stoke is now a "progressive" night run by Sam I think. Stoke is a fantastic night out if you want a night full of oldies, pity you can't get that atmosphere everywhere.
  7. If you wish to discuss the okay cokey then do so on the relevant topic, do not spoil another topic.
  8. Ted Massey's clip isn't it? He also posted it on here in refosoul when he got it.
  9. Nice one Bob, will download when I get home again.
  10. Roger Banks played this out for some years, Andy Dyson probably responsible for the recent interest and Ted bought one recently. Think Andy had a spare too which he sold?
  11. True, I know reluctant partners dragged along to a soul night who now love the music and everything that goes with it. They don't take it all as serious as some and just have a good night out.
  12. another sad loss, getting all too frequent now RIP Lee Shot Williams.
  13. Not heard it since I played it, not saying it hasn't been played though, mind you probably only me daft enough to play it at a nighter. another on on the bay already... https://www.ebay.com/...e#ht_500wt_1204 Look at the one just sold looks like one was desperate to own this looking at the bidding.
  14. Issued as far as I am aware, certainly not unissued. Used to be about bit more than it is now and not as expensive although it's always been kinda obscure.
  15. Edith Brown definitely exists, been quite in demand the last few years so when one come up for sale it has usually been privately.

I know you are not arrogant John, I was implying you were but it was maybe how what you said was or could have been perceived, written word not the often put across how it sounds. He is young and doesn't know the ropes so maybe an allowance could be made from older more experienced members for younger members?
  17. It's a good double sider Steve. I've played it at Lifeline when we were at the Bell 4 or 5 years ago but that was a smaller more intimate venue, still no one danced
  18. Has it ever had any demand? Know it has had plays but it is hardly a dancer, just an early doors record as Kev says to get you in the mood.
  19. One on here for 20 quid other day and that is about as much as I would pay for it personally, certainly wouldn't have thought about paying £30? Maybe I'm a bit out of touch these days with prices.
  20. Always though it a £10/£15 record, two nice sides but far from rare. Had plays over the years too, used to play it the odd time or two myself few years ago.

The one used in my latest podcast is the first one I think. The one with slower vocal came later, there are others too, one with a more early 70's feel to it with wah wah guitar effects or summit like. Simon T did a medley of about 5 takes I think. Wouldn't mind hearing it again but it is in refosoul and not yet up and running again.

No? Dave said TRUST ME BOY! THERE NOTHING WRONG WITH HAVING AND USING POLITNES. I don't care what he said after there was no need for him to have a say after he had apologised, just like there was no need for most of those who commented to pile in like they did. My comment was made to put others off having a dig more than anything. Neither was there any need for John (Dancingcollector) to say go and look elsewhere, not something I would encourage when trying to get new blood on the scene and more importantly get more people participating on this forum....don't care if it is a fiver or £2k, people are free to ask what they want. Would most of those who felt the need to have a go piled in like they did if it was an older more experienced member of this forum? I doubt it very much. There are plenty who don't say please when asking a question but I don't see then hauled over the coals like lee ham has. He did thank you for your input and probably replied as others would have done to John's comment to go and look elsewhere. Now again unless any replies to the original question think we should all move on. I will add though Leeham you do need to make any future scans somewhat smaller.

Get off his back, he had apologised for his lack of perceived manners and moved on, I suggest others do the same.
  24. wait till you hear the second set (which I just f*cked up)
