  2. I played it put at Lifeline few years ago a few times, great double sider. Guess it was as John says, both on same label at the tiem and needed a flip? Didn't the Hestitations do backing for Debbie Taylor as well? Guru...I wish. Tenner should bag you a copy.
  3. I've enjoyed every night I've had t'other side of the border, some of the best all-nighters I've ever been to at Shotts. Such a great crowd too
  4. I remember Rob Marriott playing Escorts cover up (Hyperions) three times in one set at 100 Club, "you will dance"! As for rule book, someone asked a question wanting opinions, he got several, whats wrong with that? Discussion doesn't stop us going out and having a good night.

you can get an acetate done at numerous places, it is no different to a carver, if for your own listening pleasure fine, if sold or played out it is no different to a bootleg. If it is of an unisuued or cut from unissued master tape, again no problems with those. Don't know how you can suggest what you have is any different to a cut/carver or whatever you want to call them. People have been cutting acetates for years and years, carvers are simply more modern method. You can or could still buy original Virtue blanks and get stuff cut to them. There are loads of acetates and carvers of Sandi Golden, my mate had Robs copy for a while before it went to Richard S and cut and acetate. Rob no doubt did at least one. Mello Souls is btw a Virtue recording, it says so in the run out.
  6. Maybe put a jukebox in and do away with the DJ, people can listen to what they want then? Got to agree with what Dave says, if a new or recent discovery yes but mouldy oldie no.
  7. copies seem to go for around $800 on popsike but seen it for £600/£700 over here. Don't recall it being covered up, not to say it wasn't though.
  8. I personally think I Can't Take It No More is fantastic dancer, great northern, sounds fab out LOUD. Someone always comes and asks what it is. Baby What Changed Your Mind is not far behind and as I said After All Is Said And Done is a fabulous piece of soul music IMHO. On A Magic Carpet Ride I can't strand any of the versions, they are all sh*t IMO But each to their own, be boring if we all liked the same.

  13. Butch has played flashback from acetate for years, Searling has one too. I've played out both Baby what changed your mind and he fantastic I can't take it no more. Another to listen to is the fabulous soulful After all is said and done. I put a few of these in refosoul when the cd came out.
  14. one too look out for and listen is the interview of Marvin Gaye by Scott Regan, think he is 19 years old at the time. Also a podcast of the Temptations and another of the Tops, bit of acapella to listen too, magic stuff.
  15. Didn't a few turn up with James Bell when he came over? Any that was kicking about seem to have disappeared, just see the odd one for sale now and then. Was there one for sale on here not too long ago? or did I see it out somewhere?
  16. Go and wash your ears out with soap Totally lacks the power and soul of Ray Pollard's version, IMHO of course.
  17. I think the last copies I saw were around the £400 mark, not mint if I remember rightly.
  18. I listened to these when they came out, just listened to them all again last two days and there's some interesting stuff in them. There's 31 of them. longest being about 20 minutes but on average about 10 minutes or so each. you can get them at https://classic.motow...ews.aspx?bid=51 and via itunes. might be worth a listen again to some of you or a first listen if you missed them.
  19. gotta agree the font on the yellow one look out of place for the title/artist. I still can't remember where the scans came from in the first place.

  22. It wasn't clear what you was replying to as you didn't quote it. Like I said if you must reply reply with something interesting we can all read and enjoy not quotes such as "yes indeed". For the last time people are fed up with opening topics to read such replies, any more will be removed.

  24. yes indeed what? do you ever learn? can you knock these throw away one liners on the head. Either contribute some thing constructive and of substance to the topics or don't bother. I for one and I know plenty of others are fed up with opening topics to read rubbish like this.
  25. Who played the Mello Souls? Has someone sold a copy or another turned up?
