  2. there's no wonder people are turning to boots and retro remakes of records when lunatics pay this kind of money for something that I would dare bet 98% of collectors or dealers would rate at less than half, half at most the price this one fetched. Why should we be glad when records are fetching daft sums of money. No where else other than JM would you get this kind of price? Why is this? Next thing every dealer begins to take these prices as the guide and record collecting will soon be a pastime for those with more money than sense.
  3. Spot on pal, would they be saying the same if Tom Jones or Duddy did a version? I want the real thing. Its a tough one to find but not impossible, me thinks this crazy price will bring a few out of the woodwork. Who was bidding, two or a few? Must have more money than sense some. I bet if one went through ebay this week it wouldn't fetch half what it got on JM's.
  4. Thought it was Guy?
  5. didn't Martin Meyler from Crewe find this/give it to Guy to play?

Think the last one I saw was £100 quid, might be wrong. Sure seen a couple in recent months. Different Highland to the West Coast outfit.
  7. another great informative story Rob.
  8. what has the age of the recording artist got to do with children in all-nighters?
  9. a lot of night clubs are 21 plus only....
  10. I think it was 25 and the count was split between three dealers if I remember rightly. Plus the odd copy or two that was already in collections etc. So still a very rare record when everything considered. Would be very surprised if this didn't sell for in the region of £2k plus, especially when you see the price paid for some records that are no where near as rare.
  11. I don't remember the boot being about when the little clutch turned up but I heard the record everywhere back then and I went up and down the country Friday and Saturday then, every copy of those that did turn up in the hands of the popular dj's of the day and some up and coming so ity was played everywhere practically.
  12. its a rare record mate, know of a couple going for more and would probably fetch more now.
  13. £700 cheap. I remember when the little clutch of them turned up they were selling between £1k and £1.5 if I remember rightly. No more since except maybe the odd one. I know someone who was offering £2.5k and didn't get one. Trouble was the majority of them went to DJ's and you heard it everywhere and got a little hammered play wise.
  14. does it matter he wasn't there early doors? plenty of writers not party to what they write about. As long as the research and homework is done it matters little. I think half the sniping is because of who has written it.
  15. eugene church - dollar bill - world pacific
  16. yes I agree, whatever your views on the topic this is despicable.

  19. when one sneaks under the radar, several 100 quid cheaper than it should be do they price accordingly or by JM book
  20. here's a scan from evil bay, no date...
  21. would have thought that was a well known oldie by then? The Only one I can think of with that (or similar) title is Reuben Wright on Capitol but Kingy played that as Eddie Holman. I've played the reuben Wright out, file is in refosoul.
