Wade Flemmon's all the tme. Susan Maughan's vocls too poppy for me, remeinds me of Pet CLarke Wade Flemmons vocals far far superior but I suppose the backin let's it down for the dancers although I would prefer to hear Wade's version out to Susan's.

is this any good, from popsike.....
  5. It was part one wasn't it? Commercial for pontiac.
  6. Andy Dyson had one, I remember listing it for him, not sure if he's still got but you can give him a try.... Dysonsoul@aol.com you shouldn't need £50 either, £40 tops IMHO.
  7. Bloody Hell Should be no more than 30 or 40 quid!
  8. didn't think there was any great difference in price and seen both for the same price, probably seen more blue than yellow. Shouldn't be expensve whichever colour you get.
  9. Who owns the E Williams Marc? What are the three credits, know there's E-Williams, is another Jimmy Williams?? Memeory not what it was . Are there two labels as well Don't remember Rob playing Junior McCants
  10. What about the two on Dore, The Swans Nitty Gritty City and Little Johnny Hamilton - Keep On Movin'. Not just the rarest on the label but two of the rarest 45's.
  11. there were only a handful if I remember rightly that were done with the date stamp.
  12. this is the first "re-issue" "counterfeit" "boot" or whatever other term you wish to use....... They were done in the UK, well by someone from here, he is/was a member of SS.
  13. https://timmion.com/node/56 Had an e-mail from Timmion today giving details of an upcomingLittle Ann LP release. Details can be found HERE
  14. Boba did a radio show full of Vietnam tracks.... /forums/topic/103083-sitting-in-the-park-vietnam-soul-show-5-24-2009/page__p__1081043__hl__vietnam__fromsearch__1entry1081043
  15. THink there might be a previous topic on Soul Source about protest songs and the Vietnam War, maybe one of the Mods can find it.
  16. Hi Ion, hope you are well. Has he got the Kent cd, A Soldiers Sad Story. Might be a good place to start. https://www.acerecord...59&release=1079 ATB Chalkster
  17. Turbines on Cenco, don't think it's been mentioned and a Keb spin wasn't it.
  18. Seen to reall you and me having this discussion before Kev. Still think the Mello Souls would have made it, maybe not in 1973/74 but towards the end ('79/'80) if RS had got hold of this I still think it would have gone down taken the roof off Two more from Butch that I thnk would have gone down well, Shirley Turner (Ann Robinson) World of Happiness and Jesse James Love Is Alright. Diane Lewis - Ain't Got A Chance Too. All in my opinion of course.
  19. John Vincent told me that he offered it to Richard S and it was turned down with the "too good for the northern scene" comment you mention. Not sure if it was after Wigan closed or at the tail end when offered to Richard. Great record!!
  20. Arthur Alexander - Keep Her Guessing - Dot
  21. Hi Dave Think I'm at same age as Trev forgot about the Roy Wright, could only remember Charles Farren.
  22. Bang on about Lifeline pal Maybe all promoters should insist that DJ's play 4 or 5 records from left field just to spice things up a bit

Personally Billy I think they spoil the night these days. I witnessed the same one Wicksy did and the best dancers sat it out. To get on in a dance comp it seems you have to either look wierd or throw themselves about for the whole duration neither in time to the beat and totally lacking decent footwork. Like Rob said the choice of tracks for dnace competitions doesn't give those with decent footwork the chance to shine, the choice of tracks certainly needs looking at and the judges should be looking for the dancers first an formost not the acrobats....don't get me wrong I love to see the floor tricks but it has to fit in with the track, in the breaks etc not for the whole track.
