  1. I don't think playlists comes into the arguement in my opinion, or should I say they are irrelevant. At the end of the day it's all comes under the Northern Soul umbrella and putting a venue on in the same town/city as an established venue, whatever the policy, on the same night is pretty thoughless IMHO. Like I also said it often makes you wonder what the scene is coming to and where it's going! I've said it for a long time there are far too many venues in close proximity all over the country and not enough soulies to go round.
  2. it has, info from www.discomusic.com Ullanda McCullough (LP) RECORD LABEL (COUNTRY) / YEAR / CATALOGUE # / FORMAT / SPEED: Atlantic Records (US) / 1981 / SD 19296 LP 33 1/3 RPM Promo Vinyl record PRODUCTION / RECORDING / MIXER / STUDIO & BAND CREDITS: Producer: Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson for Hopsack and Silk Productions Mixed by Jimmy Simpson TRACKLISTING: Side A 1. Bad Company (4:28) 2. I'll Just Die (3:43) 3. Warm and Gentle Explosion (4:15) 4. Love Had Changed My Life (3:56) Side B 1. It's You (3:52) 2. Rumors (4:48) 3. You'r Gonna Wanna Come Back (3:10) 4. Rock Me (4:30) Take a talented singer like Ullanda McCullough and team her up with the Ashford and Simpson and the result is this 1981 album that is a must listen. "Bad Company" is the big track here, but listen to all of it as you won't be disappointed in anyway. Ullanda McCullough's album is a keeper and highly recommended. 11. I'm not 100% myself Steve as like you not heard side by side but remember thinking that upon hearing the re-issue I thought at the time sound was just as bad as the Turbo release and that they could have at least cleaned it up.
  12. I'm after decent quality mp3's of Little Darling (Cenco) and Kell & Cherry - Thats Whats Happening - Glowhill Cheers

Just looked on JM's ROTR and see there is one there with its own label (i.e. where it's not stamped over Harvey Scales).

Sean Mr Esquire Taylor & The Vic Pitts Cheaters - Never Do I Worry, probably one of the best for me on the label. What's the deal with it's release though, the label is 2007 Harvey Scales with the details for Sean Taylor just stamped over the top and label number 2003A used. You can still see all the Harvey Scales details underneath. Was it never officially released, any "clean" labels out there
  18. another Soultown venue that Guy ran.......like you say Byrney all great nights
  19. couple of flyers including 2nd Anniversary.....
  20. It is definately Harry Starr. I know as I was asked on behalf of Harry's wife to do her a cd of this and his other releases, Another Time Another Place/Step Into My World and the unreleased End track as she hadn't got them in any format. But you only have to listen to realise it's Harry Starr.
