  1. Used to travel to Northampton regular years ago for Neil Smith and Cliff Steele's Detroit Academicals, top night If remember rightly one of my first forays into Northampton was Rushden and club called Castaways. Remember going to a local pub before hand and banging me head on wooden beams on ceiling.......think it was a pub for the local hobbits

Gotta agree Phil, was fetching £400 few years ago and probably harder to get a copy nowadays.

wavs work on real player here. Might not stream but once downloaded shouldn't be a problem. Anyway Real Player is a real pain, only use Jet Audio, plays every format.
  15. Gene @ Yarmouth early nineties.

  19. your right...nowt like her
  20. First two the links not working but can see Mitchell Brathwaite and Jesse Fisher. Which Jesse Fisher?
  21. Why is it? Hardly ever see it for sale and not seen too many over the years. There's dozens of records no where near as rare as this that fetch twice and sometimes three times the £700 quoted.
  22. The value probably would rise depending on who played such a record but just because one (for the sake of arguement high profile) plays some forgotten record, whatever the price why should every wanna be DJ and his (or her) dog go out get it and play it, why can't they find their own forgotten record, thats my arguement. If more Dj's did this the scene would be healthier and much more diverse IMHO.
  23. I think it's a fabulous record Win, but does every other DJ have to play it. Many of the records that are considered played out and tired are fabulous too, doesn't mean I want to hear them ever week. And I never said my taste was better than yours or anyone elses. There seems (IMHO) a lack of the individual taste you mention, it seems as though many DJ's have decided to play the same stuff with many record over exposed due in part to a lack of imagination which is a shame as there are couintless great records getting forgoten about. Too many trend followers and not enough trendsetters. Again IMHO. If you didn't do Northern Soul and you went to the local night club every week, would you put up with listening to the same top 40 for 20 years? I doubt it.
  24. Think the first place I heardf this was at The Hoist in Conisboro', Andy Dyson spinning it. Hardly ever hear this nowadays.
