  1. Did it go from Ion to Carl to Kitch.....Kitch deffo bought it off one of them, think the deal was done at Trotters in Mansfield, Rob Marriotts old venue Ady Potts had two copies couple of years ago in sales box.
  2. I am/was. Can remember the Patti Livingston too, infact bought my old copy from Guy back in the 80's. Might be worth a few spins again.
  3. Kirtsy got the Fred & Turbines right Kitch bought Ion's copy if I remember rightly. Can't recall or remember Del Chantays being covered Michael Christian was covered as Nolan Chance & Constellations by Pat Brady. Two Plus Two covered by Butch as Servicemen.
  4. I don't think it's him. Was talking to Andy Rix years ago about this and we came to the conclusion it was Jimmy Radcliffe. Wasn't the original studio disc is a UK test pressing, Adivision or summat like (played by Ion?) so maybe he's English?

  13. you could well be right about Jimy Wensiora first spinning Debonaires. There's a playlist of Keb's from 86 or 87 from the echoes I posted somewhere on site, Keb's Floorfillers, still listed on there as the Tempos. I'm damn sure that at the Winding Wheel all-nighters here in Chesterfield, Colin played Ralph Graham as Tommy Navarro I think, there's an article/review of one of the Winding Wheel all-nighters with a mention of this. I'll have to dig it out and check. Some great DJ's from North of the border back then The Shotts, Scotland vs. England niters cracking nights Flyer form one attached.....

Hi Mark. Not heard this for some years. Rob Marriott used to spin it as the Ambers.
  16. Have seen it go for around the £700 mark in recent times. What did the one on e-bay go for? Old Keb spin covered up as the Tempos, not sure if Rob's was Keb's when Keb sold up. Like you say proper hardcore northern

there's many a soul "star" who has a lot to thank the northern scene for. Without this scene many of them would have received no recognition whatsoever for their work and ultimately no royalties from cd sales or appearance fees I can't really see a re-issue swelling any soul singers pension coffer too much either. Maybe Paul can give us some figures that some of the singers have made from royalties from Grapevine? I bet most of the singers are just pleased that their work hasn't gone unrecognised. If they do make some money great, but I bet what they do make doesn't affect their lifestyle too much.

yes I agree but I know of dealers/collectors who when they have acquired stuidio acetates they also aquired the rights, so if that dealer/collectyor was a dj and his set recorded then it wouild be theft from him would it not.

if some of the records are studio discs bought legit from the owner then surely the current owner has the rights. as some are also unissued then no royalties due????

yes just backing up your point and making the theft IMO comment as well

no it wasn't, Gavin had access to the equipment and connected a mini disc or other recorder to the equipment and got as good a recording as was possible, certainly good enough to do the odd cut or two. It was done without permission, theft, or as good as IMO.
  24. hope this will do... Don_And_Juan___Heartbreakng_Truth___Mala.mp3
