  1. Doubt the likes of Butch and Andy D will ever stop collecting but there will come a time when he says enough is enough and quit DJing. It can be very frustrating for them to see others using their knowledge for own gain, be it going after sounds they find or certain records being booted or even legally re-issued  The scene was built on hearing newies week in week out and I can't understand why that has changed and the majority want safe records and are happy for others to play boots and re-issues when there are collectors out there with the real deal who never get the chance to DJ...strange world of northern soul indeed.
  2. F*** the idiot box...too much soul to listen too, even when stopping in
  3. Thats the one...bloody memory terrible lately
  4. Probably "Ouch I've just cut me f****** finger" As for avatar it's the max size. The writing says Bro spent a most delightful birthday chillin' with his bitches.
  5. The originals also have a sharp edge to the disc, on the boots the edge is blunt.
  6. Whats the title of the Survivors track Carl Willingham spins on Valley? Got baby in it...all I can remember
  7. Why on earth would anyone want to boot this????
  8. Really great post Jas!
  9. Found the mp3 and it's titled...err Unknown I'll have to ask Tim Brown as I think he was playing it at one time.
  10. It's an LP ful of Charay stuff isn't it? Not sure of the label but it is cheap, or was. Anyone got a soundfile of the Cressa Watson to compare...mine sound s very much like Martha. Know Ady Croasdell been playing the Martha version for a few years. Kenny Burell playing the Ward Burton one.

Think Jamie hit the nail on the head. Majors could probably afford to dump a record rather than promote it and their A&R list would be pretty extensive and would probably push the "hot" act of the minute whilst others got pushed to one side. If they achieved little radio play and didn't hit locally then they were probably shelved. (All IMHO) Other rare major labels 20th Century - Corenelius Dwyer - Steppin Too Fast Mercury - Stormy Wynters - Lifesaver
  19. He was Shane, sure I mentioned that on here a while back He liked to listed to many black artists and had a few faves. There's not many with a better voice than Elvis
  20. Great minds Hammy
  21. Many great vocal performances though that I'd rate highly but I'd go for the Roy Hamilton who I can't believe hasn't been mentioned...then Jackie Wilson.

I would be very sceptical about buying any copy from the States. £900 a joke IMO. With the number of copies about it must be down to £300 tops???? maybe less cause no one knows how many copies out there.
  24. Does the guide still reflect if the record has been booted?
  25. Sure it went for more than £650 Not 100% but he may have listed it for £800. Know couple of others who listed it for that price.
