Can't believe some of you lot ! Even if he's got 200, it still remains a very rare record ! Where's your perspective on this ! The northern scene has been through this scenario countless times over the years. Once they've all been absorbed by collectors, the market value will be back at the previous level. The demand on this record will always outstrip supply. If any of you have been offered a "twofer" at a bulk price by this seller - as some of you have indicated by your posts - but you only want or can afford one, then PM me and I'll take one and you keep the other.
  2. Is Carl still with us and, if so, still performing ?
  3. The UK Jay Boy release of the Fi Dels "Try A Little Harder" plays much louder and clearer than the original US release on Keymen !!!!!!!!!!
  4. That's what I thought too, never in all this time have I ever heard mention of a Tery Callier 7" on Erect. Begs the question, how many other popular "modern soul" favourites from, let's say the era between '79 - '83, only exist as a 12" with no 7" release whatsoever ????
  5. Does this exist on US Erect as a 7" , or was it only released as a 12" ???

  8. Isn't it Dave Cash who is introduced at the beginning of the legendary "Hand Clappin Footstompin Funky Butt Live" LP of Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band ???
  9. Dave, which of her three LPs do you mean ? If you have a copy of the first to sell, count me in .

    Eddie Floyd on Stax
  12. After Barbara Lewis, Pattie's is the best version, no doubt ! Aussie only too !!!
  13. Derek, talkin' about Scottish soul , what about (semi) legendary african-american jazz-man Rufus Harley who built his whole career in the 60's doing great gritty r n b / jazz instrumentals on the BAGPIPES !!!
  14. Can anyone on here point us towards some footage of the "steppers" scene in Chicago in the USA , a scene which musically is firmly based around "soul" music ?
  15. Nice EX+ or Mint copy needed please, UK issue Please state your set sale price. Thanks!
  16. Isn't 1879 the uncommon one ?? Without the noises at the start ? Going off the top of my head here, the other is 1972 or something isn't it ?
  17. Please , what label number/ version is the Curtis on Charm City, Mr Dog?

Yes they were, they were all legally licensed, it's just that the Guinness label was apparently constituted to take advantage of the US tax laws.

Lou had TWO general release LP's issued in the 60's , one on Cotillion and the other on Volt. Both excellent soul LP's and both well worth purchasing without hesitation.
  22. Ady & the guys at Kent put out a superb CD of Loadstone stuff some years back ... so I'm curious if Ady knew about the original master tapes coming up for sale on ebay recently ? https://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...A:IT&ih=005 This California Playboys LP is genuinely rare and keeps rocketing in demand ... and price ... some fabulous LP only tracks !!!
