  1. It's a Belgian release made for the popcorn scene, I believe.
  2. I might be getting mixed up, but was there not another thread on this blue label version where it was suggested it was actually a completely different singer?
  3. The seller also had quantity on most Prix label stuff. And now some of those titles are being listed and NOT as 1st issues. Approach with caution...
  4. It's interesting if you look at his completed listings: https://www.ebay.com/sch/vashx22/m.html?item=271385033399&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc most of them say "1st press", a whole bunch are obvious, ahem, re-issues on colour vinyl. And then there's things like the Mustangs single which, notably, don't mention that they ARE originals and don't mention that they're NOT. I hate to admit it, but that looks a bit dodgy to me...
  5. FOR SALE 1. Maxine Brown "Let Me Give You My Lovin'" (US Wand) VG £15 NOW £10 Not the prettiest copy of this classic - it's styrene and has a large weird looking kinda stain about the size of a ten pence piece, but it plays through this with no problems. Plays really well, with just light background at times. Label has owners name in felt pen both sides. SO... to use a well worn phrase "fine for DJing" and under half the price of an EX copy (about £30+). 2. Detroit Spinners "I've Got To Make It On My Own" (UK Atlantic K 10571) M- £50 NOW £40 Great seventies track, apparently withdrawn in the UK - and no US release exists on 45. Lovely clean copy in Atlantic company sleeve. 3. DEE DEE SHARP "What Kind Of Lady" (Gamble) white demo EX £80 NOW £70 SOLD! Classic storming northern, nice condition demo (same track both sides) definite original (Frankford Wayne stamped) 4. BARBARA LEWIS "Hello Stranger" (UK London) NOC VG+ £10 NOW £5 Rare first 1963 UK release (not red label Atlantic), in original company sleeve. No centre and few surface scuffs, plays fine. Books at £30. Postage extra. Paypal preferred. PM if interested. TA!

  8. Tony Middleton's "To The Ends Of The Earth" is the ultimate stalker record: "To the ends of the earth I’ll follow my star To the ends of the earth just to be where you are No matter where you roam I’ll never be far behind Who cares where the path may wind As long as I find you. Though the melody dies, the song lingers on And a thousand goodbyes won’t convince me you’re gone I’ll follow you, my love, you’ll never be free To the ends of the earth till you’ve given your love to me. GET THAT MAN A RESTRAINING ORDER! Imagine the boot was on the other foot? You've told your girlfriend a thousand times it's over, you move to Australia and there she is - you'll never be free....
  9. Call me a pedant, but if you're asking $4000 for a record, it might help if you spelled the name of the artist correctly... ;-}

    So, what happened? Calling Mr Wombat...
  11. WOW! Out of 15 items, TEN of them ended under £200. In fact six of them ended up at or under £100. It's time to panic folks - THE CREDIT CRUNCH HAS FINALLY KICKED IN!!!

  13. I'm always moaning about records fading, it's just a cop out, isn't it. You've gone to the trouble of writing: intro verse chorus verse chorus middle section verse chorus verse chorus.... and? Why not just write a proper end?! Love a record with a proper stop finish, so much more dynamic and makes changing tempos and styles while deejaying much easier. couple which spring to mind: Evie Sands "Picture Me Gone" Hector Rivera "A Chance For Romance"

    No, owning an unreleased acetate doesn't equal owning the rights to the music on it. You'd still need to find who owns the music and license it. Which could be like finding a needle in a haystack...
  15. Think it was the other way round, £200 plus US copy in exchange for UK copy? I made the same mistake myself when I first saw it... Anyway, yes, pretty cheap for Justin Jones. Think there's plenty of people who wouldn't dream of bidding on one of Mr Manship's auctions, assuming they all go crazy. So when something "mid-range" pops up, not so many people bother. With surprising results...

    Think it was about £32 or thereabouts, which I thought seemed pretty good. Did the thread starter manage to nab it?

    One on Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/sell/list?release_id=5195419&ev=rb
  18. It was a joke... Hence smiley face thing. I thought you were trying to use every permutation of rnb in your subject line, you know, for a laugh. But I obviously badly misread the situation. Apologies for any offence caused.
  19. Rnb 45S/rnb 45S/rnb 45S/rnb 45S/rnb 45/ Rnb 45S I think you'll find it's either R'n'B or R&B...
  20. That's the Jazzman re-issue. Also for sale here: https://www.discogs.com/Billy-Byrd-Lost-In-The-Crowd-Silly-Kind-Of-Love/release/2522369 Not cheap, but you're not getting charged for a naff cd-r
  21. A month seems like a polite enough length of time for a bump... Any offers?
  22. Down In The Subway finished at £560 and that was without the picture sleeve, oof!
  23. I don't! Sure Mik will have this tucked away somewhere, too... Great record, crazy but great.
