Hi Russ I'm assuning that this tune is A) Really rare B) you want to play it out in which case perhaps the best thing to do is sample the tune in and get a carver done. I sample them in at 96k 24bit and then use a program called Izotope to remove all scratches and 'bacon frying' leaving you with a well listenable tune although if they are really shagged even this doesn't work sometimes

Think it was covered up for about three years Harry, I think I bought just about every record with Capri's and girl in the title/artist to get it. Managed to get a real one about 8 years ago. It's still a rare record.

Having owned the bootleg for 30 odd years and original for 15 plus years on getting another copy of Herbert Hunter - I was born..... and due to my new policy of playing both sides I was staggered to hear 'Push away from the table' for the first time. What a mug and what a great record, sounds just right for todays audience. Thing is I played it to Mr Rushton and a well known Midlands collector and they didn't know it either, which does make me feel a tad better. Cue stampede to play 'Push away'

Yes mate he recorded loads on the Preview label, by himself and also with the Raindrops also recorded alot with him on the one side and somebody else on the other. I think he was primarily known as a poet or something, perhaps a Craig Charles type character and perhaps was the reason that the Preview label existed.
