Manifesto Mag Subscription
Our subscription ran out about 2 years ago now, been trying on and off (e-mails, phone messages, friends who bump into Mke out and about asking for us) still no joy. Probably try again sometime but also given up for now. Cheers Paul

Gil Scott Heron - Bottle
In so much as its just as silly. A different design to the French one tho. Posted a picture of it in the 1st picture sleeves thread a while ago. On holiday right now but I'll post it up again when I get home (unless someone beats me to it). Doesn't feature the "drunken" intro like the LP version but it doesn't fade out like the US 45 so I guess is a more "full" version Cheers Paul

Johnny Baker
Yes it is Neil, he raved about both sides if I remember rightly he said he"d not heard such vocal prowess since the passing of Big Maybelle (praise indeed) I"ll try and find the copy and post it up Cheers Paul PS So what about the instrumental version then ?
-
Johnny Baker
Wow Neil thanks for that post. ...............................so the "Operator, Operator" stereo/mono promos are the 1st Do you know anything about the instrumental/Pt2 release ? I suppose if "Operator, Operator !" was made with the northern scene in mind then the "Accept Me As I Am" ballad was added later for the US market ? I have an old Blues & Soul where Dave Godin has the issue as one of his "significant sides" I'll try and post a photo/scan sometime soon Cheers Paul

So
Oh yes applecrumble Margie Joseph I would love to see her The Dramatics have played a weekender back in the 90s TSU Tomatoes any Philly tour gets my backing and I"m looking forward to Jean Carne and Shirley Jones early next year. Unfortunately Little Sonny of The Intruders passed a good few years ago. I know they made some records without him back in the day but to me his unique "off key" vocals are an integeral (spelling ? ) part of that great group Cheers Paul
