  1. I've heard today of a mate who just bought a Ringleaders 'original' for £150 on ebay - turned up with M-Pac labels stuck over a Stardust 45 Fookin unbelievable how anyone can think they can get away with stuff like this and the above?????????
  2. Just found a small handful of unplayed copies of this great double-sided 45 Charlie 'Cole Black' Brown I Got Your Love Sounding like it should have been made by Tyrone Davis at his peak! Blinding Crossover mover from 1973 which has remained under the radar for many a long year! Listen Here www.soulmusic.co.uk/Records_For_Sale/Images_and_Sounds/1285.mp3 b/w I Just Can't Get Over You You think the top side is good? Then try this AWESOME Deep Soul opus! Marvellous record! Listen Here www.soulmusic.co.uk/Records_For_Sale/Images_and_Sounds/1286.mp3 Jewel Records Note - Although the original is from 1973, this is the legal second issue made in the 80's. Virtually the same as the original but the shade of Blue is slightly lighter on this copy. Still a bargain at £8 Visit https://www.soulmusic.co.uk to buy it at just £8 Cheers Steve
  3. No, don;t have that! I've loads of 60's and also 50's variations but not that one, sorry!
  4. Anyone ever seen a US Avco 45?
  5. Have you a scan or pic you can post up as there are loads of RCA variations? I've got loads of them here?
  6. I've searched for a US copy on Avco but never found one (still looking if anyone has one for sale). The UK copy does crop up, but even that isn't that easy. Not up to date on CD's so can't help you there? Cheers Steve

I've a virtually unplayed TMG720 Green/White Demo for sale Probably best to speak to you via PM on it? Cheers Steve
  8. Bargain Actually I got some obscure Parlophone UK sleeves in the collection, some with whacky cartoon stories and adverts on the back of them from the mid 60's plus a load of nice original UK Verve, Vocalion etc
  9. I reckon it's worth about £20-£30 Definitely worth having on the shelves for sure!
  10. Maybe Mr Poserman Hampsey will use them for his set again
  11. Got a couple of these in that sleeve collection too As said above, it's not that rare though surely?
  12. Hi Bob Yeah, I have this somewhere on 45 (Purple Label) Seem to remember that the B side is quite a lovely little track too! Cheers Steve
  13. Hi Mike Eeeee them were the days It's probably not being picked up on the popsike radar as they probably go for much less than $20, although when i do get them for sale these days, i do tend to price them at £20-£25 Bloody great record imho (I actually played it at our 'So Soulful 70's' do at The Ley Inn last Saturday!) Cheers Steve ps Mike - Working on a fabulous £1 box for this year at essence
  14. kinell, i've just bought a few thousand original record sleeves (without the 45's) and just seen a 'Diamond' sleeve on the auction above go for £22 I think i've got about 4 or 5 mint Diamond sleeves in there!
  15. Same here, mine didn't cost owt but kinda feels silly when you realise that you've had a boot filed in with all your originals all these years

There must be about 3 or 4 versions of 'No Limit' and they are all great................probably cos it's such a great song! John - Yes, it's that acetate that was floating around last year, from the mid/late 70's Crossover/Ray Charles sessions I think (great write up in this months 'Soul Up North') Cliff - get yer 'and in yer pocket lad, it's made for you Cheers Steve

  21. My number one cock-up ever!!!!! I found the blank Test Pressing Flanny was on about (which ended up with Jordi) in the US in 1993 and brought it back with a load of other stuff and when playing through them didn't give it long enough on the decks before chucking it in the £1 box at Yarmouth. Listening to it again when Jordi played it on Soul People, i can still see why i ran out of patience with it cos of the long intro BUT why oh why did i not stick the needle in the middle of the record and listen to her voice? What a numpty! I'd actually forgotten about it BUT it was painfully brought back to me when Dave & Jordi came to mine the other week to record Soul People. Jordi was going to tell the story live on the radio but i told him if he did, I'd make him sound like one of the chipmunks throughout his two hours  Cheers Steve
  22. I have a 70's Gwen Owens boot on the bay at the moment https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/grumble1991/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1 I know the new reissues have affected the price BUT i have been offered £25 to end it now so maybe there is life in the old dog yet?
  23. Yep, there's a scan here https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/grumble1991/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1
  24. Hi Dave Yours is the proper run-out for an original by the sounds of it? My copy has A-23115-2 (deeply scratched in) but nothing else in the run-out? This is neither one nor the other, so wondered if anyone else has an opinion on what it could be? Again, I still suspect it is a boot but would like a second opinion? Cheers Steve
  25. And in a weird deja vu moment, assuming Kegsy sorted you Andy, out but anyone else wants one i've one at https://www.soulmusic.co.uk It's the original horizontal arrow issue too :-) Cheers Steve
