How Long Can You Keep Your Record Player Going?
It really depends on what kind of deck you have. In my experience though, ebay seems to be the best place to find replacement belts and styli. good luck!

Whats Your 3 Most Hated Tunes
as an addendum to my original post, I'm not sure this has much relevance on the northern seen but the song "Tossin' & Turnin'' by Bobby Lewis fills me with a rage few should be familiar with. I used to work at a small organic market where we had horrible digital radio, and the "oldies" station on there churned out that obnoxious heap seemingly on the hour every hour. one time, truthfully, I stopped mid-transaction ringing up a customer to rush upstairs and flip the station. should have seen the confused look on that poor woman's face as I rushed up the stairs to the office repeatedly saying "nope" to myself.

Settle An Argument ? Ann Sexton
Never heard of it being booted either, though I could see that "outta sight" label doing up a repro of it at some point since it always seems to be in demand. All I know is I'm happy I paid 99 cents for my slightly roughed up US original yellow issue!

Hey Mate Can't You Play Something Decent Like
These exchanges are always a bit more fun with a language barrier, as I live in Denmark now and my limited Danish either comes off as chunky and awkward or kind-of smart assy. I was playing last thursday eve at a pretty mellow cocktail bar/restaurant kind of gig, more an excuse to eat some nice food with the lady and have some drinks than a serious gig, but usually fun all the same. a crew of 3 or 4 Copenhagen "Inner City" types (usually pretty boorish and posh "yuppies") came up to me at the bar while I dashed for another pint in between records, so I didn't have much time to talk anyhow, and asked me if I was the DJ that night. I replied to them "yes". They asked me if I could play some "dance music" (can't remember which record was spinning, but it was definitely an uptempo number). I bluntly told them "I'm playing dance music right now. I'll be playing dance music like this all night", but apparently my Danish tone wasn't too friendly, and as I bounded back to the booth to switch over to the next record, I looked up and all 3-4 of them scowling in unison while the record faded out. If I'd had a mic I would have surely dedicated the next number to them, "here's more fantastic dance music for the folks at the bar!" They hurriedly drank their cocktails and presumably scowled on off to the next club where they could grind their parts together on the dancefloor to some ignorant drivel.

Sadie Sadie - San Francisco Tko's
This is wonderful! I've always been curious if it was a male or female on BOTH of these sublime records. But never heard the similarities until now. Very cool, thanks Ady!

Dj's Responsibility?
I'm just going to sit back and watch this one develop into another OVO thread somehow. You know how studies on animals show that they can sense a natural disaster is coming? Same thing here, more or less.
