Jesse Fisher Album
HI Benji hope alls we....the info was on the sleeve notes for the Bill Spoon album that Soul Junction released :- Words from Bill Spoon..... After my return from the Army in June 1965 I was reunited with Riki Sonda and he introduced me to Leroy Elie, with whom he had been singing with during my absence. The three of us soon realized that we the gist of a competent vocal outfit if only we could add a fourth voice. So in August 1965, John ”Cornbread” Berry became the fourth member of our group. Because we all had day jobs our performances were limited to nightclubs at the weekend only. Riki was a quality control foreman at the Cleveland, Chrysler Automotive Plant, Leroy was a commercial electrical and mechanical architect. John was a manager at a metal photo processing plant and I was a criminal investigator for the state of Ohio. In November 1965 with the help of Lou Ragland, the four of us now using the name of the “Soul Notes” signed for Lester Johnson’s Way-Out label. Although several tracks were recorded only two 45’s were released “How Long Will It Last/Don’t Make Me Beg “(Way-Out 101) and “How Long Will It Last/I Got Everything You Need” (Way-Out 106). The intended flip to “I Got Everything you need” was a song entitled “I’ve Been Waiting For Love” which had been by written by myself, John Washington and “Riki” Dannison. We had even gone as far as recording it but for reasons which remained unknown to us the song was pulled and replaced with a re-release of “How Long Will It Last”. “I’ve Been Waiting For Love” was later released under the different title of “Your Not Loving A Beginner” being recorded by Richard Fishers younger brother Jesse, and with some of the song original Lyric’s having been reworked by James Calloway. Reet I know a man that has a sound file for the Bill Spoon/SoulNotes original take, but not sure if he will let us have it ? will see what we can do but will not make any promises etc ktf tfk

A J Sparks And Crew
Just check out this little beauty thats just arrived today:- A.J SPARKS and THE CREW "WORKING ON LOVE"/ GOTTA MAKE IT DO WHAT IT DO. "Awesome indie midtempo soul for 2013 " Release Date: Monday January 7th 2013 A.J. Sparks (real name Anthony Jones) is one of Detroit’s most respected session musicians who started his career as a drummer and percussionist at the age of 12. A.J’s early career was nurtured under the watchful eye of legendary Funk Brother Joe Hunter whom the young A.J always referred to as “papa Joe”. By the time A.J was eighteen he was backing some of the biggest names on the Detroit music scene. While playing drums for Edwin Starr during a performance at the Apollo Theatre in New York one night, the in house musical director made the lasting quote “that boy can sure beat the sparks off those drums” and so the stage name of “A.J. Sparks” was born. A.J was employed by many local Detroit recording studios including Sonny Marshall’s Dotty’s label and Ernest Burt’s Magic label, featuring on all The Mad Dog & The Pups releases amongst others. A.J’s drum rolls can also be found on The Chapter 8, The Flaming Emeralds, The Detroit Emeralds and the Floaters Fee label releases. A.J also recorded the Funk anthem “Put It In The Pocket” for Fee Records as “A.J. Sparks & The Spark Plugs” with the plugs being Donald “Crazy Legs” Austin and Howard Carter. A.J. also featured as a session musician on his childhood friend Michael Henderson’s” Do It All” album as well as the later “Slingshot” album which Michael recorded with Venna Keith. Further A.J. Sparks credits include working with Parliament and Funkadelic main man George Clinton on his “Cinderella Theory” and “The Awesome Power Of A Fully Operational Mother-ship” projects. More recently A.J has been involved as a co-producer on Ronnie McNair’s first solo project the current “Living My Life” album release. A.J is currently operating his own Detroit Black Smoke Productions Company, and it is with one of his own Black Smoke productions that we at Soul Junction Records kick off the New Year in style with. The incredibly soulful and classy “Working On Love”, while the b-side, see’s A.J and Crew return to their familiar funk orientated roots with “Gotta Make It Do What It Do” with the Crew member supplying the vocal accompaniments being none other than Mr P-Funk himself George Clinton. https://www.souljunctionrecords.co.uk/ ktf tfk A.J.SparksandCrew-WorkingOnLove.mp3 A.J.SparksandCrew-GottaMakeItDoWhatItDo.mp3

Jesse James "let Me Show You" Cd Album
Hi Folks just to let you know that Soul junction Records have produced a limited pressing run (500 copies) of the previously vinyl only: SJ 5005 Jesse James “Let Me Show You Album” This is exactly the same as the vinyl release but in cd format. We still have a few vinyl copies available if you prefer this format. This is available now from all our usual stockists or if you wish to purchase it directly from us please contact us at: sales@souljunctionrecords.co.uk Following on from his two previous excellent Soul Junction 45 releases Jesse James returns with an exciting new vinyl and CD album “Let Me Show You” The album is a potpourri of some previously unissued tracks blended with some of Jesse’s more familiar tracks from his previous album releases. But with the subtle difference that these featured versions are the original takes recorded earlier using proper instruments rather than the later versions which featured synthesized backing tracks. The album features Jesse’s now deleted 70’s soul winner “I Feel Your Love Changing” first released By Soul Junction (SJ508) in 2010. Along with the full version of his other Soul Junction release the classy two stepper “I Gave You Love With An ‘A’ Plus (SJ511) which comes in at a massive 5 minutes, 45 seconds long. The previously unissued tracks include the sublime late 60’s mid tempo offering “I Don’t Want An Undivided Love” the disco influenced “I’m In Love With Loving You” and a excellent cover version of the Terry Callier/Larry Wade composition “Just As Long As We’re In Love” also recorded by Callier and the mighty Dells. To finish the album off we have also included both sides of Jesse’s currently sort after 45 “I Got The Feelin’/Let Me Show You” which appeared as a solitary release on the independent Moonlite Hope Music label. This was to be the lead 45 for a proposed album of the same name “I Got A Feeling” which for various reasons sadly never materialised. So all that’s left to say is sit back press your play button and indeed let Jesse James show you. John Anderson and Dave Welding. Soul Junction Records.
