  1. thanks to Ali Duff - the new "webmaster" for getting the site up and running, we will post up some pictures from the last anniversary in Gennas. The free CD is almost done, with tracks from Hesitations, Trends, Bobby Angelle and Eddie Billups. Jim the Arab - now I know what happens to the posters that I put on the front doors of Gennas see you next Friday alan

kinda reminds me of my Timex toolmaking days when we used to turn-out Tungsten Carbide darts from the wee Schaublin lathe in the corner. Does the big chamfer on these help the short-sighted locate the record hole !! alan
  3. sorry, I've been trying to upload a sound clip, but failing several times !!! nightmare.....
  4. No Pete - that was me I'd been looking for it at decent price for ages....also just bought Theresa Lindsey from you this week, hopefully it'll be at home when I get back on Friday...... cheers alan
  5. Mark - I'm shattered to hear this news - I'm listening to you right now, like every Sunday night and 10 mins ago I told my wife (non-soulie) this is the best 2hrs of radio broadcasting !! We managed to save Soul Club with the power of the collective soul fans on this site - I say we do the same for this great show ....... if your willing to accept Paypal etc. I'm first to offer my £20.... alan
  6. Nick, Thanks for the clip. It's exactly as I remembered it..... here's to happy hunting at Prestatyn cheers alan
  7. I totally agree with, Steve's thoughts on this topic.... in Dundee we suffer from the "oldies brigade", and when we play something like "Miracles If Your Mother....1962" it empty's the floor ??? how much older can we go ? alan
  8. Sorry Kevin - but I feel very strongly against your comment/thought that we ( in the UK ? ) are "desperately try to relive" the portion of our lives....etc, etc..... not sure if that comment was meant as a wind up !!!!! maybe it succeeded ? alan
  9. hi - Can anyone please provide me with a soundclip of TJ Williams & Two Sounds of Soul - Baby I need you, Josie. If anyone has it for sale, please let me know...... cheers alan

Denise Chandler aka Williams - top tune, I put it out on one of the free Gennas CD's last year, one of these great soul songs that empty's the dance floor though alan
  11. Thanks to a fantastic service from a certain Mr P.Smith, within 20hrs of ordering it my postman brought me Ray & Dave - Wrong,Wrong,Wrong - Mica alan
  12. This topic is perfectly timed, I'm not sure if the church organ recital is exactly the same one that Matt Stokes created for the Dundee "Our Surroundings" project but it sounds like it. Matt did a heap of research and decided to cover the Northern scene as it was in Dundee mid 70's. This culminated in him bringing 30 of the countries best dancers all together and filming them in St Salvador's Church. As a seperate piece of work he had professional organists transpose some Northern classics into organ music and played them to a packed audience. Anyway, back to the point................ The film cut that was shown lasted about 6 mins ( from 8 hrs filming) and was featured in the exhibition in Dundee last summer. We have the kind permission from Matt to show the full edited version at the Gennas 5th Anniversary in Dundee on Feb 3rd. We've got a big screen which will show the entire footage of all the dancers and we'll keep it running all night. Other attractions that night are DJ's Keith Money, Fraser Dunn, Alan Paterson Anybody need more details then pm/email me cheers alan
  13. I'm sure ATOM went through problems like this before, last year I suggested to him that there are enough users of his site that would be willing to pay a subscribtion to help him maintain the site. I would sign up to help keep this great resource alive...... alan
  14. So if it's the real one, anyone know what price it fetches ?? alan
  15. Who can remind me of the authenticity of the Ohio Players LP that has "Love slipped through my fingers" track. I've seen a Greatest Hits, Superpak, Superpak Dble. all listed on Trip but can't remember which is regarded as the pukka one ?? cheers alan
  16. got mine for £16 including postage, maybe a year ago, perhaps got a bargain as it books at £40 ?? alan
  17. For our night in Gennas Dundee, we rent the club and the decks are included, great Technics decks and professional sound system but I bought our own Stanton D5100 stylii, about £50/pair, we keep them as the venue is used for lot's of functions. Most of our guest DJ's are really appreciative when they know they're records are safe on decent equipment. We only run 6 times a year so hoping to get a couple of years out of a pair. alan
  18. Thanks Dave - the one on offer is exactly like this except green with black writing, going by the advice on here it's never been booted so it's kosher....... thanks to all for the advice...... another few quid spent !!!! cheers alan
  19. Anybody got a label scan of Falcons, Love look in her eyes, on Big Wheel. I'm looking at a potential purchase and it's completely different label from the "I'm a fool I must love you" label design ??? cheers alan
