  1. Nightwatch - Lips To Your Heart.....
  2. That's something I don't miss. One step up from newspaper. The Royal Navy were still using it in the early 80's. Luckily the introduction of sewage treatment plants on board meant the introduction of soft toilet paper.
  3. We'll have to get some stoneware clay next time Kathryn orders some clay, as we only have earthenware clay in the shop. Here's one she threw with some school buff wedged with a bit of commercial white earthenware.....
  4. I'll send you the piece I did, Dave....
  5. Participated in a raku firing last Thursday. Quite illuminating.....
  6. You sound like a real fun guy Philippe. Here's a toadstool that was recently made in a clay hand building session by my daughter....
  7. I think some of the wannabe DJs could learn something from this guy.....
  8. Not impressed that the organisers have decided to sell more tickets despite the venue main hall capacity being reached. Last year I thought the numbers were right. I know It's a big venue, but I can see the smaller rooms being absolutely rammed once the main hall closes. Unless of course they are planning to keep the main hall open all night.
  9. Reading it at the moment on Kindle, although I own a signed copy. Very good read.
  10. Another from beside Ullswater....
  11. Time to take out that subscription, methinks.....
  12. Here my deer. Beside Lake Ullswater this afternoon......
  13. Anyone with the moniker "modernsoulsucks" can't be all bad. Nice one Rod.
  14. Top of the Rock, 1982. HMS Ambuscade down in the dockyard, just before heading to the South Atlantic....
  15. Taken from a Virgin balloon. Brougham Castle....
  16. Another little incident during the same deployment.....
  17. Seven feet long white tip shark, weighing in at 172lbs.....
  18. They need to give us a bit of notice Mal. The old ice cream suits need to be dug out of the bottom of the kit locker, then washed and pressed. The shoes need blancoed. "Hands to bathe" is more impromptu, where the crew get the chance to swim in the ocean. Just after one such occasion, a shark turned up. A couple of the lads baited a big hook on the end of a chain and managed to catch it. It took four rounds in the head from a Self Loading Rifle until it stopped wriggling. Then it was shark steaks for supper.
  19. HMS Hurworth, Hunt Class Mine Countermeasures Vessel. I served on her sister ships Cattistock and Bicester.
  20. Agreed. It's good to hear what the DJ has to say (most of the time), whether it's announcing the record, acknowledging the previous DJ's efforts, or calling out the raffle.
  21. Lord, what's happening to your people?
  22. I actually think she is singing Tova, which is a Hebrew name. Rhymes nicely with think it over.
  23. Here's one from 1983 in the Indian Ocean. I'm kneeling at the bottom right of the line up....
  24. Try All Posters UK...... https://www.allposters.co.uk/-st/Motown-Posters_c11700_.htm
  25. Sounds about right Peter. Honeysuckle in the foreground, and somewhere between the two is jasmine. They all flower at different times. The birds love it amongst that lot. There's four different acers in the other photo. The two in front of my shed have really taken over and will need to be pruned at the end of the year. Here's a photo taken less than 5 years ago....
