From information gleaned from the Groovesville USA book one of her two Peacock recordings is a Tony Hestor song/production, and I'm assuming that this is the 45 with Detroit connections.....strange I know but there are many more recordings that I've found with a Detroit link.....The fascination of record collecting I suppose

  12. As an aside.......whilst washing the wifes car last week (naivety or onset of sight issues denying the obvious, and no I don't wash hers very often )......I unearthed a "gem"......And whilst I fully advocate the authenticate turntable output, I was overcome by a wry smile, when realising her( not so recent) purchased vehicles numberplate begins......OVO So "bootleg freaks"......keep watching your rear view mirror.....Because you don't know who's looking over your shoulder

I recall attending the allnighter Dave mentions previously, and still have the Hand written flyer that Pete French produced....great times
  14. It makes me wonder whether I'd been going to venues with earplugs in for all these years, as it was only whilst on a visit to Tim Browns Anglo-American records, back in March that I came across a copy, and on putting it on the turntable.....from the opening bars it blew me away!......Naievity or ignorance on my part methinks
  15. Awesome group, I absolutely love all their "output"!
  16. Never seen one of those before ......Any soundclips around....... anyone please? Cheers wilxy
  17. Awesome record IMHO the best on the label

  19. Sorry Nick, unaware of the recent ebay sale?
  20. I'm currently in posession (on an approval basis) of a Clifford Binns acetate, which I'd appreciate some help with please! It's in 7" format and is of metallic/lacquer basis with a single white label consisting of a hand written title and artist detail (Clifford Binns-Who told you) whilst the flip side (the better of the two) albeit unlabelled contains the main hook line "I'm human too?? It sounds early sixties, but would be interested if anyone could supply any more information whatsoever on the item... which will be most gratefully recieved! Thanx in advance....wilxy
  21. I have to speak as I find, and whilst I've" been involved for a very long time", and have engaged in most of the "sub genres" of our beloved scene, and still respect most... and still collect aforementioned vinyl in particular with regard to such....find my interest once more in wishing to hear particularly the sounds of the sixties that have remained elusive/rarely heard ....in my world anyway! Burnley albeit a long round trip remains my choice niter, but must admit I require so much recovery time, from ANY niter nowadays....... However I must say from a Soul night perspective, my venue of choice whilst still distant Is SHS in Shoreditch,London and must add, that whilst Soul nights may sometimes be put down for whateve......, on a personal note....this nite keeps me looking forward to the next.....And that's what's important to me Sorry Lou to diversify, but whereas the scene started out as a "BIG all of us"....Nowadays it's a "smaller some of us".....and seemingly each to his/her own perhaps? Best wilxy
  22. Fair do's to you Ady, what a class find ! Total respect for your endeavours in making ones hair on back of neck still react on a musical nature, as they did in "days of yore".....so to speak.....And moreover (perhaps from a Detroit collectors perspective) Awesome
  23. Yes, fair play it looks the business!
