dudes clearly rockin some heavy plates. or he's some student f**kwit who thinks its really clever to look self-important in record stores jivin way above the usual volume level 'bout his nigerian afro-spaceship wares. you sound like you so far advanced i might just give up and go back to listening to music other people have heard of. aka everything that's wrong about record co-lecting.
  5. hi Mal it's bacharach and david 'are you there with another girl', Brill Building NYC, demo'd by Dionne Warwick like the rest of their material in the 60's. cheers Paul

there were genuine reissues that were on bgp i think, they also put it out on cd? clearly not originals - but it has been booted as a look-a-like reissue complete with gatefold sleeve, not seen the label on one though. mines a demo and is on the brown fantasy label, i suspect the labels will look 'wrong' on the reissue they usually do on all these boots. cheers Sutty
  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trfES5CMgs8 this album came out a few years back to no interest whatsoever as far as i can gather, features previously unreleased (i think) material including the don blackman track featured on the link. if you like a mellow stepper it's for you cheers Sutty
  8. and on the subject of don blackman, check the esperanto album on soul jazz from 95, containing 'glad that you were mine', also on a 12, but theres plenty of good tracks on the album. the 45 under discussion is now way rarer than the album. i'll rephrase that. it's way harder than the album, neither are really that rare at all.

  10. yes it is, just put it on, thanks - i've been sleeping on that one for a long time. always good when you hear a quality record and you already own it. now this thread means next in line is the kellee patterson lp
  11. the track on the sso lp that's in demand is 'faded lady', which has been sampled and i believe also came out on 45, but i may be wrong on that bit.
  12. nice to see you've all bought it as it's out of stock already LOL
  13. thought some of you might be interested in this, probably of dubious origin but as it was unreleased... https://www.juno.co.uk/products/279832-01.htm cheers Sutty
  14. jackie wilson's version on the 'beautiful day' lp knocks spots of the majors version IMHO and will have it's day i hope cheers Sutty
  15. sent you a PM Mike I have the Isleys LP for sale if you're interested cheers Paul
  16. doris troy 'face up to the truth', willie tee 'first taste of hurt' where the unrare (green) issue is as expensive as the rarer (blue?) issue was, chosen few 'birth of a playboy' was a constant £10 til a few years back, and most ludicrous of all dottie and millie on topper that was £8 and everywhere and people are now paying hundreds of pounds for! these records are just not rare at all. cheers Paul
  17. Jens - mailed u 8 hours ago?????
  18. https://cgi.ebay.com/Friends-Can-Be-Lovers-...1QQcmdZViewItem buy it now mint $1.65 plus $6 post or get in a bidding war at 19 cents start https://cgi.ebay.com/DIONNE-WARWICK-CD-Frie...1QQcmdZViewItem cheers Paul
  19. the lp's don't seem to change that much unlike the 45 prices eh...
  20. i'd guess it's not a massive amount as the 12" is what is in demand with the disco collectors, they're not interested in 7"'s cos it's all about the breaks on most disco tunes. the lp is about a tenner, you might get a bit more as it's an unusual pressing. it's a nice tune i'd keep it myself. cheers Paul
  21. i do know the price of the lp as i've had a couple of copies, about £30. seen it around that price many times. cheers Paul
  22. that's ok, thanks Moldie i'll cancel my caribbean holiday, if you want it for a tenner including postage drop me a PM Andy. never been played. cheers Paul
  23. i've got a mint one available on horaces what does it go for i've got no idea!

i know most of you people collect 45's but you are missing out on the best track if you don't buy the lp...
