  1. If one of the very talented restorers down at the V&A or Courtauld Institute could remove the grafitti from the label it would be worth a silly sum , it pains me deeply every time I see the lovely clean flip to think how it should look.
  2. I rest my case ... Time for you to join the ranks of the NSVHPA and start your own fantastic Derby and Joan night. (Northern Soul Village Hall Promoters Association)
  3. He's probably just played twenty tunes that ain't in the "Top 500" that the "mainstream" crowd have never heard. Don't forget the important point that everyone misses , the norvern soul' scene died and disappeared in 1981 with the close of some bingo hall oop north and remained lost until some enterprising yoof in Bristol resuscitated it and restarted the whole thing some 40-odd years later.
  4. This one ... ?
  5. New series of "Tulsa King" has arrived.
  6. I'm going to say Del-larks ... but I really can't decide which side I hate more ...
  7. And a somewhat less interesting me in there too ...
  8. Kitch first then Butch picked on up on e-bay as I recall , think it's uncredited on the two acetates.
  9. Sounds like a blend of bits of Duffy-Mercy and Right Said Fred-I'm Too Sexy ...
  10. Same heads-up applies for tonight folks ...
  11. I'd assume the info's from Soulful Detroit forum. https://www.discogs.com/artist/635121-The-Lollipops

  13. Wasn't referring to John's flowery prose but the unnecessary hyperbole seen on here ...
  14. How many folk do you think actually get swept away by hyperbolic record descriptions and their associated over-inflated asking prices ... ? Especially when a simple 2 second search can easily quash some of the claims.
  15. If they're metal then they'll be stampers made from the original lacquer. They might look 'playable' at first glance but they're a negative impression and the 'grooves' are in fact raised so they cannot be played.
  16. I only recall Ady playing it throughout the mid-late 90s so I guess that's when the swap took place , unless Mark had a few stashed away in the back of his box or under the table ...
  17. I've always associated "Love is a trap" with Ady. But a quick search on here shows me that Ady got it off Mark as a swap for Ernestine Eady.
  18. Seeing numerous reports all over Facebook from family members that Pat Lewis has passed away ... https://www.facebook.com/pat.lewis.9615
  19. Three for sale on Discogs so not exactly hard to find.
  20. That's the "re-issue" that's not a reissue. A totally different compilation that happens to use the same sleeve as the "original" I assume the person who put out the first one had more covers printed than LPs pressed and decided to use them up on the second album , with a different rear tracklist simply stuck on the cover. Strange that you can buy it on Discogs as it's obviously a bootleg.
  21. Gulls always head inland at harvest time then tend to hang around for a while before heading back coastwards.
  22. The powers that be changed the General License a while back so we can't just 'remove' them as easily these days.
