  1. I meant it was earlier than the "late 90's" as you suggested .
  2. It was a monster for Shifty in the mid Nineties ...
  3. No , they're a lot more durable than you might think , my Hayes Cotton - Black Wings acetate still plays fine after hundreds of plays since it was cut in '66 ...
  4. Usually those posting tracks that don't have the actual 45 to play , just an mp3 lifted from the net or a CD , so they have to grab an image wherever they can find it.
  5. 'Tain't yellow whichever way you spin it , just someone's hamfisted attempt to brighten the image , same as the one on Gripsweat. This is yellow ...
  6. I've never found this mythical yellow copy on YT , a very low resolution , washed out orange label image yes but no yellow ... Put a link up to this alleged yellow one please ...
  7. I'm just desperately trying to erase the image of Zoe Ball and Marc Almond making babies ...
  8. My favourite was someone insisting that Chris Clark - DILYIID was in fact Dave Evison's missus warbling over the FW backing track ...
  9. It's not just the artists/label owners Dave , there are plenty of folk about that are still spouting the same nonsensical tales they were told at 3am at a niter 40 years ago , whilst off their proverbials. A larger pinch of salt is needed as every year passes I find.
  10. No worries fella , I'm supposed to be clearing brambles in the garden but it's just started raining ... shame that ...
  11. I did quite clearly say 'general industry standard' ... I think that 'thousands of demos on issue copy labels' is over-egging it a bit , the three you mention are all clearly labelled as DJ Copy -Not for resale as well which the Villige 45 lacks.
  12. If this doesn't scoop the "2024 Troll Post of the Year" award there's something very wrong in the soul world ...
  13. I thought that originally , but I assumed that because both sides just show as VR-1000 the 'Plug Side' wording is there to indicate the A-side , along with the general industry standard of promos being white labelled copies. But I'm certainly not going to argue the toss with the 'horses mouth' , even if the producer is noted on the label as Tommy Moers and Kaplan's only credited as co-writer of the flip , maybe someone's confusing producing with publishing which was done by Sammy's 'Lovelane Music'... ?

  16. Chalky has nigh on 400 classy recordings on his page ... https://www.mixcloud.com/Chalkster/ And I've got 200+ so on mine including most of the Lockdown On-liners and loads of Mark Bicknell's Sunday Lockdown Specials ... https://www.mixcloud.com/Woodbutcher/
  17. So an even bigger thumbs-up to Ady and the team them , I shall be waiting with bated breath for the postie over the next few days ...
  18. You'll find that "B" plays exclusive genuine studio acetates not self-cut 'emidiscs' ... And most of his so-called cover-ups are in fact untitled/uncredited studio acetates so not cover-ups as such. I personally , as would most I'd wager , would hate to see his one-offs churned out to the masses as bootlegs or played out at every Mickey Mouse soul night off a laptop.
  19. Well Jack and Victor do a brilliant impression of a sad handbaggers soul nite ...
  20. Evidence would be nice ...
  21. What was the result of the visit to the guy's shed/barn ? I've just re-read the 2011 thread and it kinda left us hanging in mid-air ...
