RIGHT JUST GOT IN FROM A HARDS DAYS WORK, IM ACTUALLY QUITE UPSET AND PI**ED OFF REGARDING PAULS COMMENTS AND THOUGHTS ON THIS THREADS TOPIC, WHY DOES HE HAVE TO THINK THAT THIS IS ABOUT HIM? another thing that seems to happen regards "charity events" not all off course must stress, is that most of the advertising/organising and bull of blah blah amounts of tickets sold etc is done via facebook etc and rarely on this site? would also be nice to see some of the ammounts made for chosen charity/s, instead of photos of handbaggers etc trying to dance and the promotors bigging up there events because 500 locals turned up...... wheres my tin hat!! lol

never been a hoarder of 45s or defo would be in the thousands by now, have about 500/600 all original us/uk 60s northern, which about half dont get played very often not because there crap, just keep because of sentimental reasons and will only sell if a last resort....or a major want comes along. for me collecting is the thrill of winning or getting that wanted 45, or even getting a classic 45 that i only had on a reissue/boot when i was a youngster, i see it nowadays that if i dont play something bar the ones that are under the bed they are better used as trades or sold towards the next want with no regrets to selling, at the end of the day if i want them back there always out there... yes there are a few records i want to own before my collecting days are over...then again there always will be...its called collecting.... ..

ive collected records for years, but ive never been a hoarder of 45s, so if i dont play them i will sell/trade to get something i will play works for me as most collectors know that the collecting habit only really goes one way "more expensive wants" yes i still have records that i dont really play but unless im really desperate they stay under the bed!! lol happy hunting russ

just finished a job in a old georgian town house the owner had 5 lovely grandfather clocks all working and sounding fantastic chiming every half hour and hour. actually i know there not clocks but i have started to collect a few vintage watches russ

hi all, i was pondering whether to respond to a want post for "my dear heart" as it as just been sitting in me "oldies" box for the time i purchased it and have rarely played it, but noticed the person wanting this 45 saying that the options were wait for a copy to finish on ebay or buy the issue up for sale on j manships site because of no response to there want. so i thought before i make my mind up to sell and at what price, i have a EX black issue imo harder to find, i watched the recent demo finish on ebay for in excess of £350+ and before that another demo went for over $600+!!!! this got me thinking is this 45 in demand and were? would think if its getting played would be at a oldies type event? whos paying that sort of money for imo not really a rare record? are they uk based buyers collectors or oldies djs? and lastly what makes it abit of a strange thing is that you could buy a EX+ black issue of j ms site for £300 i mean we all amazed at how much more he gets for records on his auctions but to actually be able to buy a rarer issue for alot less of a dealers site just makes me wonder even more whos buying/paying so much for these records!! bizarre, if i was john i would wack it up for auction..... any thoughts on this 45, imo not a bad record but a £350+ record i think not, especially when you see oldies such as new wanderers - this man in love, struggling to sell then in the end sold at £130!!! amazing as i dont go to event so much nowadays, the oldies events i do go to locally ive never heard this been played saying that the time i have heard it played was mid 70s early 80s.... so is it the case that if this 45 is in demand or is it because the oldies punters/djs dont know it lol... what you think? russ
