Big Maybelle – Do Lord
That's because it is a different song and record than the one 'wanted' by the original poster. Both records are by Big Maybelle but because they both have 'Lord' in the title does not mean they are the same!

Paul Anka... Cant Help Loving You
Makes you wonder why the mystery about the record and its discovery when RCA put an advert in the music press describing it as 'that drivin' Detroit beat' !!!!

When A Pop Song Is Better Than The Original Soul Recording
I think the likes of Dusty and Georgie Fame have always been accepted by Soul fans - the 60's pop artists were entrenched in US music and the producers and A&R men were so so on the ball. What I don't like is the trend in recent years ifor pop artists to go out to make a 'Soul' album - Cliff Richard, Hucknall ,Stone et al . Why do we need interpretations of Soul music. I don't think the 60's artists went out to interpret 'soul' - they went out to make good music and it sounded Soulful because of the material and their influences. IMHO. Mike

King Moses - Someone Got A Bargain
Never understand the point of sales like this - i.e sold as a OK for DJing, if it has been owned and played out by so many of the big name DJ's over the past 20 years or so surely it is a 'played out' oldie? what kudos would be gained by playing it? what pleasure would be gained by owning it and playing it on your Hi Fi at home? Think I would rather hear an underplayed Curtis Mayfield track! Mind I do find it interesting hearing about its history on the scene - and others like it - from those who were around at the time. What Is Your Experience Of Recorded Delivery In Uk
Yes I think the days of Postman Pat have long gone - the posties on my round work like slaves - if they are taking short cuts its because of the pressure of work I would think. And i'm not going to report them for putting a package through the letter box without a signature - it makes no difference to me. The alternative is for them to put a card through the door then I have to wait 24 hours before driving across town to stand in a queue with proof of ID - so they are doing me a favour, IMHO. Mike

Whats The Story On This?
Because a record is recorded by a white person and is played on the Northern scene it does mean it is 'Blue Eyed Soul'.
