  4. Yipeeee...Yes we're are opening the "Y's I missed them when it was “H”.
  5. eXacerbating not being able to think of an "X" -but we should open "X" up now. I have consulted the video referee and he says “eX” is permissible. Originally a girl group called the Masterettes, but Herb Rooney replaced Penny Carter when she left- So technically a mixed group (at least after 1963).
  6. Thanks for posting Kim up- a thrill a moment, for me
  7. let's not leave the "W's" without someone posting one from Kim,please.
  8. Wooooosh....let's bring on the "W's" (getting close to the end now) There are so many "W's" that list as my fave's for various reasons (hint hint "the baby", etc) i'm sure it will show up ( hint hint " I can't wait...)
  9. Vrooom-let's get the "V's" going (note: female artists/female groups)

  14. My "R" - i'll pop an "S" on Sunday then we should be back in-line. maybe controversial again... ‘Don’t You Worry Baby The Best Is Yet To Come’(Besse Banks)is a track that was first played at Blackpool Mecca in 1976 . Greg Wilson, UK DJ launched his Super Weird Substance label back in June 2015. Having featured on the label's inaugurating release alongside Wilson, Seacombe-based twins The Reynolds step up for their debut proper with a superb cover version of a Northern Soul classic. Vocals from Katherine and Carmel Reynolds ride the production work by Greg Wilson and Lee 'Peza' Perry.
  15. Are you not doing an "R"? - or have i missed it (something)

that's something i could leave to the grandkids...interested in helping with the crowd funding when you get it going. good luck
  17. as per Mike's concerns-Please ONLY POST ONE per " letter". I don't think that will be an issue as i move it to the "Q's" Quiet Elegance formed in Detroit with Yvonne "Frankie" Gearing, Mildred Vaney, and Lois Reeves. Vaney (aka Mildred Scott). Frankie Gearing has been in the Glories, the Laddins, and the Steinway's.Out of the 8 singles, this 1975 number is (IMO) their closest to NS.

this is sad indeed. my own small tribute by pointing back to Northern Connections #9 in Soul Source Articles.
  19. Phew...we're heading into the "P's" (Girl/Girl Group only) The Poodles comprised two sisters Marilyn and Sue Cogdill and their cousin Sharon Cunningham. They recorded at Southern City's small rehearsal studio in Gallatin, Tennessee. It was never intended that 'step by step' would be released with the low level of sound quality. The Poodlles one and only release. The B side 'I got a good thing' was recorded at a local nightclub with a few students placed around the stage for audience sound effects.
  20. Yes- i'd have been really disappointed if someone hadn't put this up. Nice One
  21. Happy New Year 2018. Oh...Let's start it with the "O's" a Va-Va spin
  22. yes- the "N's" are a little harder- so i'll leave it open until this evening (then open the "O's")
