  1. I was in a conversation when JB and The Hightlighters Band cropped up, and i mentioned i'd once heard TLOMG played before at least 1972/74. But was poo-pooed. So i was probably wrong, or maybe it was a one-off? (it being the flip) So i wondered...at which venue was "The Love of My Girl" played most and when? Or doesn't it get out much? maybe someone at Prestatyn 2004 weekender may know- i understand JB was on the bill. cheers
  2. that's a nice moment for those folks...
  3. i do the similar thing as bbrich. i use (un tech i know) access db with A&R, lable, pics, writers, etc. One day i'll migrate it to SQL or some such thing and maybe 'webize it'. Anyhow, should i ever decide to sell, i'd most likely give the db away with the sale of my records.
  4. The Equals, Black Skin Blue Eyed Boys ( or a title close to this) used to play out a lot in Manchester.

  6. Beggin- Timebox My copy has an ex-Radio Caroline DJ (Paul Rusling) signature scribbled on it- to let shipmates know who's copy it was. I guess it diminishes it's value...but a little piece of Pirate Radio history nontheless.

  8. Northern Soul Connections #10 October 2017 - My Soul Train - Around the 'L' All aboard the Soul Train, in fact all aboard the Chicago 'L' as this months Northern Soul Connections takes us onto the 'L' ... The Chicago "L" (short for "elevated")is the rapid transit system serving the city of Chicago and some of its surrounding suburbs in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is operated by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). It is the fourth-largest rapid transit system in the United States in terms of total route length, at 102.8 miles (165.4 km) long, and the second-busiest rail mass transit system in the United States, after the New York City Subway.
  9. hi Mike why do you think this hasn't quite 'taken-off' (maybe yet?). For me, it would be a trusted way to buy (and maybe sell) from SS members. Not having looked to deep...i guess it's just PayPal F&F between adverstiser and buyer, or other such transaction-is it? seems like a good idea to me-am i missing something.

another 'sort of wierd one'- and not my favourite, but worth a mention...maybe. Amy Winehouse's 2007 CD Back to Black for the single "Tears Dry on Their Own". The track is based on a sample of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's 1967 Motown hit "Ain't No Mountain High Enough".
