What condition was the previous copy on eBay Nev and how much did it sell for? It's okay Nev, found it. Looked in worse condition than the one sold last night and sold at 'best offer' for $2,800.
  4. Where's it on Kris, a friend of mine was asking.
  5. I've seen it already, with my pal Tony Rounce, courtesy of Ady Croasdell, who couldn't make it. A case of his unfortunate loss was most definitely my gain. I have to say, it was brilliant. Do NOT miss this, it's a MUST SEE documentary that leaves you hypnotised. I wouldn't mind watching it again to be honest.
  6. Does anybody know who compiled the A La Carte Volume sets? Was it one individual? Or, a collection of people all contributing to the 'project'?

  8. Allegedly released on UK Columbia. But don't know how true that is. Perhaps mythical?

Sack him off Pete. Go for the one that you know is available. Then, if he comes back and confirms the full value, tell him why you went elsewhere. Perhaps it'll gee him up a bit next time. Also remember, even if you've ordered something, with Gemm you always have the option to cancel; unlike eBay.
  10. Hi Pete, Yes, I've got a copy of that. Not sure, as it's been a while, but I've seen more than just my own copy. But I'm only talking about one or two at best. Denbo.

There you go Julian, you now have a plethora of contacts to help satisfy your curiosity.

Try Mace, he helped pioneer this record, he may know something, or give you some pointers.
  13. Sebastian Williams & His Soul Men, Shucks, Red or Sky Blue Cotillion. What's the difference, apart from the spectral scale?
  14. Does this Sound Cloud recording jump for everybody around 1 hour 2 minutes? Or is it just my computer?
  15. I wasn't well off Gilly, just careful with my money. And NOBODY was going to take anything off me in those days. There weren't many Scousers on the scene in those days, but we looked out for each other wherever we were.
  16. Don't know where Chris Lalor got it from but it wasn't from me. He may have taken a copy off Tony Jebb, or perhaps taken the copy I gave to Tony? I still have the original cassette recorder that I recorded it on. Talk about being a hoarder.
  17. And I'm assuming that tape was a copy that I made off my original for Tony Jebb, when he made a special Guest appearance there back in the days of Blackpool Winter Gardens. Don't remember what year that was but it was when they had the R&B room at the back / far end of the main dance hall. The quality came from the fact that I was sat on top on one of the big speakers on the stage with the portable tape cassette recorder between my legs. I was quite well known even back then for being a bit eccentric.
  18. Pete Smith will do that for you.
  19. Pauline Rogers - I'm Just A Woman - Flair-X - SOLD Betty James - Henry Lee - US Chess - SOLD
  20. Pauline Rogers - I'm Just A Woman - Flair-X - Vg- at £50 Vernon Harrell - If This Ain't Love - Score - M- at £50 Betty James - Henry Lee - US Chess - Vg+ at £50 - Much rarer and, in my opinion, better than her other popular 45 Jay Wiggins - I Am The Man - Solid Sound - M- / Ex++ at £40 "Hot Breath" Hannah - Please Mr. Play Boy - NRC - Ex+ at £120 PM me to reserve. Free packaging (re-using boxes I received records in) but postage is; UK - £1.50 standard Europe - £3.50 standard Worldwide - £4.50 standard Insurance is optional and extra, at cost PayPal acceptable but as a GIFT please. 21. It is. I'm just hoping there might be a 45, of some kind, available out there. I was chatting to a guy some years ago who thought he might have it as an acetate or test pressing. He was never able to find it amongst his very large, dispersed collection. Or, he never had time to search through everything he had to either confirm or deny its existance.
  22. Still looking, for a nice Minter if possible. Please PM me if able to help with this Want. Thanks.
