Danny Moore on Allrite - original vs reissue?
I had a lot of originals back in late 90's. Dave Withers tracked down Massingille by looking in Detroit phone book. Think it might have been a relative rather than actual writer.

Lenis Guess - Just ask me
I'd keep the regular issue with the promo sticker and then you haven't got either of them. Allegedly.

Another UK northern soul record over a £1000
I've got excessive discharge or build-up of mucus in the nose or throat, associated with inflammation of the mucous membrane. I think it's guitar. O boe not another musical pun ! Fine. Clare caught the virus at work in early October. She's over it and only had minor symptoms. Somehow it missed me completely despite sharing a house and having no idea she had it for 6 days. Working my way through Discogs buying lovers rock and streetsoul 12"s cheap, and the odd Northern 45 and album elsewhere. I picked up a M- Danny Wagner 45 off US eBay BIN for $1.50 few weeks back. Trust you are keeping well. If not I'm a size 9 shoe. Be a shame just to dump them.

Another UK northern soul record over a £1000
Some people eh ? A few years back I was seeing a therapist as I was worried I was turning into a musical instrument. He said I was a lyre too. There's a couple at least on Popsike. Here's a link to copy I got last year from Craig Moerer https://www.popsike.com/BARBARA-MILLS-Queen-Of-Fools-Take-Your-Time-45-UK-rare-Soul/352858675617.html It was M-.

Thelma Houston "Dont leave me this way"
Anyone got a mintish copy for sale cheap ? Stepdaughter wants it. Loads on Discogs but I figured someone may want to see the back of it on here.

As you now appear to have a defaced issue that's not even a real demo I think it best to step away from the conversation.

I'd save that question for the next niter you visit. Hours of endless fun with a fellow anorak.

Not great condition either according to seller's grading.

Top 10 best Rare Soul/Groove LPs
I'd say no. RS sounds like War or similar. Not melodic or "pretty" enough IMO.

Top 10 best Rare Soul/Groove LPs
Last things I bought were these although more 2-step than rare groove.

Lisa Stansfield 8-3-1 how much ?
I sell on here. If you were to query my prices I wouldn't mind. Yes, it would be obvious to some that my ad led to the discussion but then don't we already see that in say eBay listings or JM's auction. As long as you didn't say Rod is a rip-off POS I think that's OK. Present the evidence and leave it up to the members to come up with their own conclusions ?

Lisa Stansfield 8-3-1 how much ?
When I was modding the sales section I think the rule was you didn't post comments on the actual ad. Nothing to stop you commenting elsewhere on prices as long as it didn't descend into personal attacks on the seller. Mike can probably clarify.

News: Keeping the faith: A History Of Northern Soul - Kindle
I'm sticking with my lorgnette. I'd just been over the road for my fags and paper. Wearing a mask so popped glasses on top of head. Bent over to pick up paper and glasses fell off. Lens came out so I'm scrambling on the floor for ten minutes looking for lens. How it got under the ice cream fridge I'll never know. Hence preoccupation with glasses. Cool my a**e !

I read some of the blurb. I quite liked the notion that the reason NS never got the coverage, unlike punk, was because we had no intellectuals with access to the media shaping the musical narrative. I mean, I've read your posts and you're trying. And what about Stuart Cosgrove. He wears glasses FFS !

buying B&S nostalgia
Lost me there. I was talking about Ralph's in Stockport, where I spent quite a lot of time not doing my A-levels. I did go to Manchester Ralph's quite a bit.

buying B&S nostalgia
Doreen worked at Stockport shop now and again so I guessed Zan turned up there at times as they were an item at the time. As you may be aware I used to wag it at Ralphs. Carl was the black guy ? He used to write my notes to school. As I was there quite a lot around 1970 I do remember Little Louis and Scotch Joe used to come around. They sold me Tymes "Here she comes" and Gloria Jones "Finders Keepers" on UK demos for £1 each. I'd never heard them but the guys were too big to say no to ! And I'm 99% sure I got EJ from Spin Inn. I must have mentioned all this to you over the years.
