  3. Bobbi Lynn is crazy but that Contours is a thing of beauty. I only collect USA Motown so no idea what TMG value is. The track itself is probably one of the first "rare" soul items to be spun long before Northern was a thing.

Bitty McClean Walk away from love SORTED Carlton & Shoes Never let go M- ish Please PM, thanks
  5. I think other side is a low-rider tune.
  6. I had a signed for go missing and PO site said delivered to my address, However thanks to modern technology it's somehow recorded using GPS[?] so PO were able to check postcode which turned out not to be mine and were able to retrieve it. If Ireland uses same system you may be able to prove you did not sign for it or receive it.
  7. My take on this is that yes it's kinda gratifying that you have some of the 45s that go for big bucks on various auction sites particularly when you've paid a lot less. However it's the 45s you haven't got that are rising at the same rate which means you can get priced out of collecting.
  8. I put Clare in an awkward situation with Lulu. Clare was interpreting [BSL] for Lulu's set at Manchester Pride. I told Clare that when she meets up with Lulu beforehand to go over the lyrics she can mention that her version of Patti Austin's original has had some plays on the scene. She did and Lulu wasn't amused. "I know Patti well and I didn't copy her song" kinda thing.
  9. I wasn't going to pull you up about that ! I make allowances for anybody not from Manchester.
  10. That name is on my Gamble 45.
  11. Dave Raistrick on here has met and spoken to Weldon back in the 80's so he might have some idea of Weldon's exact position at the company. I always assumed he was one among other promotion guys, I've got a Frankie on Gamble with a Chips sticker and stamped DJ Copy.
  12. Got M- Teddy Randazzo for a mate at £80 inc postage off US eBay 10 months back
  13. True, but the fact that they're still up for sale time and time again IMO points to us being right. I guess for a lot of sellers it's a hobby so can afford to sit on them.
  14. Me neither. I'm talking about the cheaper end where it will most likely be double or triple what I consider the price to be or in less than reasonable condition, hence they just don't sell.
  15. My experience from selling when I had the outlet in Manchester and selling online is that if the record is the right price then there wouldn't be 10 copies to compare ! They'd be gone.

  17. Diane Renay- "Can't Help Lovin...." - D-Man £404
  18. I couldn't agree more, Bob. Austin's real name is Austin Allegro. Ex-member of the Cadillacs. He later joined Gary Numan's band and wrote their hit single "Cars". Tragically he died after being hit by a bus. I trust that sets the record straight.
  19. Sounds nothing like reggae ! There is a release of what I assume is same song but different version [?] by Guardian Angel which is something to do with Matumbi https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/3990623?ev=rb
  20. Really good Billy. Like that. Starts off using "Ting-a-ling"
  21. I'll follow up on that, thanks. I must admit I rarely listen to podcasts and radio stations. There's always something else to do. I'm new really to buying reggae though have bought the odd record down the years and had a very small 12" collection but lately I've been buying a lot. In my head something fresh and something easy on the pocket [£5-25 usually]. Still buy soul albums [mainly 2-step] and cheaper end of Northern 45s but I'm usually familiar with those tracks so excitement of something new is not there. Get them and just slot them into the others. Spend most of my time going through Discogs and seeing what's for sale and playing those I don't know [most !] on YT. Unlike the NS scene you can get a nice track for £1.99
  22. Veering more toward Roots. I'm more into a soulish type thing. Got this 12" by him too
  23. Been buying mainly 70's/80's reggae
