  1. I used to go to Kings Cross on a Sunday played records there a few times , I’m on this attached flyer on march 28th I imagine this was 1991 or 1992 great memories Chris is a nice bloke , so is Alan H , in fact all that crowd were great it was a great end to weekend you deffo should have given the 100 club a few more try’s 😂😂😂
  2. Mine is a virtue press see scan always loved the 45 Teardrops is nice aswel
  3. And the fact that the bluesbusters version of this song was massive on the Belgium popcorn scene and was re issued by EMI in 1980
  4. I don’t know the origins of the yellow Byron Lee credited 45 it did get a ep release as Keith and Ken on Kapp in France
  5. Yes I had to pay a bit more that the price when released of the 2 records I posted I’m on their e mail list now so hopefully get on em early in future
  6. Im impressed with kimberlite So far no re presses due to NS demand So far a proper ghetto label I love what they do ! any further info on this Canadian record label ? These 2 45s are in my opinion fantastic big shout to these people !
  7. Yes fair play there is 5 copies strange !!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
  8. larry williams - strange great record that has disappeared for sale online and sits in collections as its a fantastic moody soul / rnb record lydia marcell just another kind of fella is an amazing new orleans soul 45 I always guessed that this release was why Gerri Hall didn't get released on Sue as they are both Walter Quezergue latest releases (check nola release lists) and Im guessing Guy just had to picke one. there is only one or two nola usa release 45s known to exist of this rare record - I have heard a well known DJ in Stoke has a copy. And the Sue uk release has disappeared And both of these records have had little Northern Soul exposure regarding plays by DJs So my opinion is these two are woth keeping once you snag them
  9. Tricky to find The Jaybirds The Right Kind for sale these days due to it being a fantastic uk only dancer
  10. Yes but On Sotoplay imprint
  11. That’s a decent tune, but the record I remember had loads of horn breaks and was a bit more uptempo I always thought it was a version of the blues standard but it could be a version of this listening to this Thanks for that
  12. Back in the mid 80s as a young Mod lad in North Wales I used to attend local events in North Wales run by "North Wales Soul Club" Great days - my great friend Rich Buckley and I cut out teenage Soulful teeth at these local North Wales nights. There were a couple of different venues, one being a venue called TTs Nightclub which was part of the ancient Abergele Castle buildings, really different. The events were organised (I Think) by Mark Speakman and, Chico, Mark Speakman, Chico, Phil Blacknell and Chris Fenny DJing mainly with the odd guest. So a favourite of mine that used to get played at the venue was "one room country shack" which was introduced as Charles Perry or Charles Berry It was a great up tempo RnB Soul version, I loved it, So 40 years have passed and I have searched for "one room country shack" and have never ever been able to find out who or what it was. I imagine it was a cover up played off a studio acetate or something. My question is - Who actually played this record and who was it by ? Was it a one off studio acetate ? Does anyone remember this record being played? I never heard it played anywhere else. Anyone have any clues ? I would love to know what it was and who played it.
  13. I would be interested to hear the AI output of something everyone knows like maybe Sam Fletchers I’d think it over Then listen to the results and see what turns up
  14. The wgumcd side must have been a studio version recorded separately The b side has different production credits (Moses Dillard) if they were both recorded live at the same time they would have the same production wouldn’t they
  15. I agree same take for lp and 45 but 2 totally different mixes with 45 having louder bass , drumming is louder. it is a great tune IMO Has it ever had plays on NS scene ? certainly has all the right elements IMO I can’t remember ever hearing it out when I used to be out and about in the 80s n 90s
  16. Yellow 45 has a rawer production , organ and drums are louder , just much better all round IMO
  17. I wonder if he will swap it for some quality unknown records 😂
  18. Jeffery Allen is a fabulous record IMO much rarer than the price achieved suggests IMO Bargain Great Stafford era Sound
  19. Oh , I just noticed the LP version of the Soul Inc is also completely different take to the Soul Inc 45 version the 45 version is much better than the lp version Anyone else notice ?
  20. Agree never set me free is just brilliant Don’t want to loose you is great aswell.
  21. I must say in my view the Soul Inc 45 absolutely beats the charms unlimited version into the ground soul inc is raw , fierce and powerful with a great arrangement the other version doesn’t do it for me Just my preference
  22. 😂 well I won’t be posting the other version of the dottys 45 on u tube then The 2 posts on u tube is the version with the up front guitar
  23. Great stuff 👍 so he was a proper pain in the arse 😂 fair play . So the dottys 45 has 2 pressing runs I presume they were trying to push “I need you” I wonder how 2 completely different takes of the b side ended up being released I thought I would post this as there is nothing online referencing these different takes
  24. It’ is 😂 But it’s only 2 minutes everyone can last 2 mins can’t they 😂
  25. its a rare 45 but has 2 b sides its mad
