  1. Why is this not a massive popular dancer? Mir a don production, Soulful harmony perfection in my ears ! The flip is a sweet harmony majestic ! Why is 2 for the road still a relative unknown? Its a stunning soul dancer!
  2. I first heard it at keele in the early 90s Instantly loved it! I have an issue which I obtained from Craig Moerer probably 15 years ago still underplayed, unknown and all that. Its a fantastic northern soul 45 And this 45 still waits for its day in the sun. I'm not selling mine.
  3. Maybe I drink to much, but I can't hear a drunk singing. All I can hear is an amazing Northern RnB stomper. The fact that you have never seen this 45 over your many many years collecting is also very interesting. It is defiantly a real rarity, also seemingly unknown at the moment. A 45 with huge potential. I love it, It would get me on the floor immediately !
  4. I love "shook me up" Memories of late 80s early 90s, Its a brilliant stomper. I'm really not sure what you mean about a dated Stafford sound. I Love cracking up too Is that a dated torch sound ? I always felt they were very similar records production wise. Both class in my view
  5. Do you think its one of those records that is actually very rare on a uk issue but not rare on a usa issue so its sort of been overlooked a bit because of that? Great record - should be played again !
  6. loved this 100 club play from the early 90s perfection how rare on a uk press ?
  7. this 45 is up there with the top rnb bangers in my opinion. Its as rare as the hayes cotton 45s and has everything an rnb stomper requires the fact that john manship notes this is the first time he has had a copy is testament to how elusive the 45 is. Personally, I love the record. My question was has this ever been played outside the 100 club? It appears not.
  8. Austin Taylor why o why I see John Manship is auctioning a copy of this fantastic 45 I understand its a play at the 100 club over the last few years. It is deffo a tune that you could call a 60s newie I personally love it, its up there with all the best RnB Northern tunes. Congratulations to John Manship for putting the worst quality sound file up ever! The 45 does not sound like that at all ! Anyway, my question..... has it escaped the 100 club yet? Has anyone else played it outside of London yet? Who found the few copys that popped up a 5 years ago? Has it ever been played anywhere else apart from the 100 club? Great record.
  9. i like it reminds me of ace mod tunes like this
  10. How did they get signed to Juggey Murrys New York label ? He doesn't mention anything about the early years. I like this 60s garage tune from that site I like this tune btw, I love
  11. Thanks Yank for your help So not much info about her Great little rnb tune I like. Got to be a few times more difficult to find than say little willie john? perhaps its too mod to be appreciated

  13. is the 50s version a different take to the blue 45 release
  14. Andy has answered all my questions concerning this 45 with the old thread. Respect again to Boba reading back, He knew A Fantastic 45 that is never going to be available cause its so good !
  15. Wow - Thanks So the Parliments on cabel and the Magnificent 7 have a line running here. Fantastic I will read the thread
  16. so much a top tune that seems to be forgotten ! Be nice to see if anyone knows anything about the band or the session etc.
  17. Its a proper northern tune i cant understand how a total top tune can get forgotten you cant get more soulful and 100 mph than this but i suppose you have to keep a few in your back pocket
  18. Tell me more I was expecting derek martin or someone to be behind the band i don't recognise any of the names
  19. I love 60s RnB Love it Does anyone know anything about this guy ? Never heard of Dossie Terry before, both sides are nice Mod RnB
  20. So for me this record evokes so many great memories from the late 80s very early 90s It remains a firm fave that I keep to this day. Overlooked and forgotten it seems but totally everything a 60s Northern Soul 45 should be. My question is who were they? I know the label is Juggy Sue Murrys and its from New York. Who were the Magnificent 7 And why is this 45 not a huge well popular dancer, Its a perfect NS record ?
  21. Just ordered mine superb northern soul thanks again to horace
  22. Cheers Mal Agree, the Spanish and French bits are still out there, but I bet you wont see them so much as times goes by as they disappear into collections. Has baby come back ever had any big plays on the northern scene ?
