  1. HURRAH !! Go to somewhere like BIDDS and you wouldn't think you're at a soul venue, oes soçme of that stuff they play deserve a mention ?
  2. Could you list say about 50 "progressive tunes", in your opinion, would be interested to see what the "now generation" likes to play.
  3. Every 5 years there's a Northern Soul Loya Jirga, I think it takes place on an abandoned car park close to Wigan. It's there that chiefs from all the soul tribes (Northern, Rare, Modern, etc.) gather and vote. That's the main failing of that way is it's a show of hands and open to intimidation, would be much better to have a secret ballot.
  4. I think Mike Riston had some copies of the labels, long time ago.......
  5. You have got to be kidding, right ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310780551845?ssPageName=STRK:MEDWX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1435.l2649 There's a gaggle of those US Ebay sellers, think they're "Funkyou" "Funkyousounds" "Burl*one" and "Son Paul" well, something like that anyway. They seem to get crazy high prices for records that are mostly highly shagged out, how the feck do they do that ?
  6. I was trying to get some info on this label, I have seen them but the net doesn't seem to have any info. Is there a discography ? Who owns(ed) it, etc. Any info welcome.
  7. Those second issue small 45s don't sell much over £25.00 a go.
  8. There's a couple of threads on this on SS, not sure but looks like it may have come out on 444, not sure tough to tell.
  9. Had a couple of these they went for about £150 a go.
  10. He's actually (or was) still around as mad as a hatter, he was by all accounts "difficult" in his younger years. If I'm not mistaken there's a second record from him that never actually got a release. I seem to remember Tony Rounce had some sort of copy and Pete Smith had a ruff cassette taped copy.
  11. I know......................
  12. I think you'll find that Pete Smith here on SS will know where to get them, he uses mailers (or used to) to ship records. I agree when I buy records in the US 9 time out of 10 they come in those small 7" boxes, pretty much crushproof...........
  13. Gonna use what I still have and will cut up supermarket boxes, 2 small ones close to where I live have hundreds available
  14. True, I have those box type but most of what I sell tend to be single records only, think the last lot were about 15 sales only 3 were multiples.
  15. Called the Sound Of Belgium https://www.tsob.be/
  16. And of course I was forgetting the bogs, that held about 20 - 30 for sure...........
  17. Nice, only weeks away from closure..............
  18. For some reason I have an "official" figure of 650 in my head, normal would be + - 800, more when top artists appearing. Was back at the site of the place on Saturday, you just can't believe how small the floorspace dimensions are. It's about 60 odd feet deep and about 120 feet wide.

I live about 1 km from Willy's Moustache and will be there this Thursday, the real guru for Popcorn is and will always be Gilbert Govaerts, he brought Major Lance over to Belgium, plus a whole load of others in the early seventies.

    This is a great video.
  21. It may well have been booted here in Belgium but it would have the letter "SABAM" on it, so it's an original.
  22. About £28.00 for 200. Didn't buy the carton inners as I'll be down the supermarket cutting up empty boxes plus I've a load from record buys Nice mailer
  23. 3 near mint, old store stock Gordy singles. You wont find better at this price, all play perfect. "Thrill" does have a mark on the vinyl and Helpless has the label mistakenly on both sides. A lot of these that come up for sale tend to be shagged out scratchers, not so these bewts.
