Lost 45's -- 1974
I have a copy of Labi Siffre ,( Something Inside ) So Strong on China Records ( a Chrysalis label ) 1987, address on the picture sleeve Queensdale Place , London , the thinnest Styrene I've ever seen , but to be honest doesn't look like a UK release due to the large hole .

New Soul Releases
https://www.coleminerecords.com/products/kelly-finnigan-a-lover-was-born It does mention his influences, but not the artists originally involved, which I find very strange, but nostalgia plays a major part in this project.

Len Jewell on Pzazz 70's repress £650
Probably the best way to combat this ( if that's the right term) is to post an identical copy, with full description stating it's a Boot , complete with starting price of 0.99p , Let it run for 7 days & then refuse the winning bid if over £20. Instead of ripping off the innocent & purposely inflating prices , for no other reason than fraud . Then post on the worldwide web so everyone's aware , not everyone's savvy .

New Soul Releases
Some of his stuff is really good and sounds original , but is this meant just to be another cover , aimed at a much younger audience who perhaps have never heard the original? Or an homage to the original? Or has Chalky asks have have they run out of ideas , be interesting to ask Kelly .

Anyone remember thisone?
Hi Rick , it could only be Esther Philps or Pinky & Perky , vocally sounds bloody awful sped up , but a decent backing track .( I meant to say or Esther Philips on a bad day )

Dwindling wildlife...............
Earlier on in the year spring / April time , we where on our way out and there was a quite a noise coming from the neighbours, we bumped into a friend walking her dog a long the lane , & she also could hear the noise asking was anybody flying a drone , we all looked up and in the neighbours very tall Ash tree, which overhangs our back garden was a swarm of Hornet's attacking a Bee's nest , the volume was amazing . Our friend legged it with her dog , the neighbours who by now had cottoned on what is was , asked shall we phone the council ( she asked the same question when the embankment on the SVR was alight ) I told her to go in shut all the windows, and we jumped in the car & continued on our shopping trip . Pleased to say when we got home 3hrs later it was eerily quite , but thankfully all over . They do look even bigger in the evenings when they're head butting the bay window , or when they fly into the house on occasion scary buggers , close up .

Dwindling wildlife...............
Living in the Wyre forest I've noticed the number of Hornets have trebled in numbers , and have witnessed first hand their hatred of wasps , let alone bees , they literally grab them roll them over on their backs and decapitate them , then onto the next , and the noise they make is quite frightening . The wasps work very hard in the pre-spring pollinating the Ivy , which then grow berries which a lot of the wild birds depend on especially the Wood Pigeons , so no wasps no Ivy berries etc etc . Sparrows , Blue , Long tail , Coal , Great & Blue tits , Robins , Blackbirds , Cuckoo , Collar Dove , Wood Pigeons, Magpies , Wood Peckers all types, All types of Finches , Wrens , Kestrels , Peregrines, Buzzards , Sparrow Hawks ,Crows & variants and this year ( We've been here 10 yrs.) our 1st Red Kite , we do get various types of waders on the Severn , Geese , ducks , Swans & Seabirds , kingfishers being so close to Trimperley Resovoir, and insects , bats etc seem ok too . Maybe being out in the sticks we've yet to see the changes , but now I'll take more notice , but there is a lot of birds , Magpies for instance which take a lot of young birds , Kestrels live on Voles , Sparrowhawk's, and the Migrating birds suffer too from having to fly over places like Lebanon & Italy , it's not just the weather.

rare record sets
About 6rs ago a neighbour who never mentioned what kind of music he was into , was selling his property to move into a rest home nearer to his family in Tamworth. At the time he , like us was living in Bewdley. I was building a new house for his neighbours, who had volunteered to assist him in clearing his house ready for selling . Anyway at no time music had ever been mentioned and so Derek moved to Tamworth and the 2 ladies emptied the house for him and the house went on the market . They in the meantime where renting a house, very close and used to pop in every day to see what progress we had made . During one of these visits I was listening to some Northern via my DeWalt radio which has a socket that you can plug in an MP3 player, in this case it was my Sony Walkman . Lesley one of the ladies , out of nowhere said what's that playing , I told her and she said " oh Derek liked Northern Soul & Reggae" my response was "Oh really " & she answered " Yes , he asked us to drop them into the Kemp Charity shop in Bewdley for him ". 10 minutes later , I was in the Kemp and in a bit of a state , praying that no one had got to them first , if they had they where not Northern Soul addicts , Bobby Sheen Dr Love , Shirley Ellis Soul Time , Chuck Woods , Barbara Mason , Jackie Wilson ,Aiton Ellis , The Artistics Hope We Have and lots of other Northern & Reggae nothing rare but still worth more than a £1. each . In all I spent £125. have kept them all except the Reggae which went in swaps , I had only ever spoke to Derek a few times he was in his 70s & more interested in the Steam trains ( The SVR ) which run at the back of our property . I reckon I could do a decent Oldies spot with what I picked up that day , Derek survived COVID but died following a fall and unfortunately , I never had an opportunity to ask him about his record collection and his passion for Soul music .
